I'd come too but im afraid you'll disappoint me

But thats a good thing for me :P I've been told by Tracy, if I break another bone, no sex for a year :D

We racers joke about crashing ... if you talk about it, it doesn't happen. But I have crashed out at Mallala quite a few times now ... altho not recently. Haven't crashed in about 6-7 track days ... so I'm due for one! :ermm:

I need to get out to Mallala and pick the pace up a bit and see how strong my shoulder is now to the hard braking on the bike.

might come down Ruby, its only down the road from me :P

Didn't you buy new boots not long ago? haha

Yeah I did get new boots a while ago. I meant "new helmet and gloves".

I've done one track day since I broke my shoulder earlier this year ... and I was slow the last time out at Mallala due to that psychological barrier from the crash. The groups are "slow", "medium", "fast" and "race". I'll put myself in the group under the racers. Just so I can pace myself and not be tempted to do stupid things with the faster riders. Tyres will need replacing after this track day, so I might not get good times anyway. I'm not even going to time myself. I'm just going to go and have fun.

I'd love to put myself in the medium group and really carve up some riders, but I'll be sent home for dangerous behaviour ... or forced into the faster group ... so I can't do that :P

:D

ill time ya

I wouldn't want to know. :ermm:

If I have no expectations, I'll have no disappointments. Until I'm sure I'm not held back by the "haunting memories" of my crash, I know I'll be slower. Plus the threat of no sex for a year kinda hurts the motivation :D

When I finish work today I gotta race home and prepare the bike, check all fluids, brakes, chain, tyres etc. I shoulda done that during the week instead of leaving it to the last minute :D

Well i went into boostworks this morning just to confirm whats wrong with my car and they confirmed that my seals are gone so looks like i gotta start saving for some aftermarkets cause it's cheaper than getting mine rebuilt

I've still got a low km pair of R34 GTR V-Spec turbos in the shed that I may let go for $650 each otherwise you'll pay at least double that for after market ones.

Thanks champ i thought about getting stock ones on while i save for the upgrade but figure its too much hassle, switching em over and paying for them. im just gonna buy a setof GT2860-5s from either croydon racing or if i have the coinin time may try and get yours.... If they're not already sold by then

I've decided I'm going to do a track day at the Phillip Island GP track again early next year. Its been over a year since my last blast around PI and I'm itching to shit myself again going round Lukey Heights

Road trip anyone? :D

Yeah Tim, my headunit hasn't and never has worked since I got the car from Japan last November and I haven't been bothered getting a new one. I just like listening to the RB26 hit boost!

...and listen to my music on my phone!

yeah i was cranking the mp3 player for a bit, but i just wanted something that was easier to use, i got am mp3 headunit so i only need 1 cd.

and ive only got an sr, it gets a bit boring to listen to after a while, haha.

    • Just to be clear, there were no lights or codes when the hiccups were occurring. Also nothing noticeable in the cars' braking. It brakes fine and the dash is clear. I only made the connection when it did throw a code and suddenly, despite the lights, it felt great again.
    • Yeah they are sliders and this was in my head before I worked out it was the speed sensor.
    • Ok so we have a smoking gun.  A few weeks ago I had to replace a speed sensor that I'd fit incorrectly. I replaced the sensor and everything was fine with no lights or codes thrown any longer.  When I was doing some more bedding in yesterday I got ABS and traction control lights again and, considering when this happens those things are disabled, the pedal went back to normal with smooth braking and no hiccups.  The codes thrown are for the same speed sensor that I replaced. When I looked at the sensor I took out it looks like the tip of the sensor is damaged. So whatever happened to it, perhaps it has damaged the magnetic ring on the bearing (that I only replaced the other week). I'll get my boroscope in the hole where the sensor goes and see if there is any damage in there. Hopefully just the tip of the sensor is in there and the bearing is fine. 🤞🏻  It's worth noting also that the pedal hiccup happens more often and for longer periods now and totally goes away when the codes are thrown again which happens usually after 5 or so minutes of driving. Love all your help here as usual guys, thanks!
