no one fell out of the roller coaster. someone jumped from one of the upper floors though, thats why they have the suicide nets on level 1.

dunno why they shut down though... me thinks it was relocated somewhere.

Shit, anyone remember Dazzleland in the Myer centre?

It's basically all but forgotten now... a few years ago, you could still see the Dazzleland signs and stuff, but now it's all covered up by 2m of white painted glass so you can't see in.

Apparently, the gym only takes up 1 level... the other 2 levels, which were what Dazzleland was located on, are simply disused. They don't even allow service people up there anymore, as they say the floors "are too weak". It basically never got maintained after it closed in the late 90's I guess.

I still have a Dazzleland token sitting at home, too! Hahaha

But shit, that was awesome up there when I was young! And Lego Land... ah... memories.

I loved it when Zone 3 was located there. Best ever when you did one of those marathon lockins. I'd be there all the time with my mates running amock! :D

Some bloke suicided by jumping off a higher level. Couldn't handle his GF dumping him. So the suicide sails went up.

Coaster shut down due to the increase in insurance, back around the time of the HIH collapse. Wasn't making enough money to cover the insurance costs. Remove the "amusements" from the policy and the insurance was cheaper. They had a few in other Myer centres in cities around Aust which also closed down.

There was plenty of jumpers from the upper levels in the Myer centre. Few suicides and one case of a school kid that was messing around with a school bag on his back, anyway, he was on the edge over the railing and the school bag tipped over his back, acting like a weight and dragged him down.

Yeah and then they installed the nets/sails to stop it from happening.

And yeah, that Dazzleland roller coaster rumour is old as! It came from the original rumour of when the roller coaster was first tested with crash dummies on it, all of the dummies were decapitated.

Shit... just realised Ted's stripping his super-sexual onevia after it was defected!

Shocking. That thing was porn.

You only JUST realised? :D He's only been parting it for about a month.

Also, your avatar on NS is rediculous amounts of awesome, but also annoying as I lose like 5 minutes whenever I see it :laughing-smiley-014:

Face off ... Jennifer Hawkins and Miranda Hawkins hit town on Friday.

yep Kerr, by a minute margin.

Rubes, that made me think of a quote from step brothers:

Barbara Walters, Oprah, your wife. You gotta f**k one, kill one, and marry one, go!

come to think of it, this is a farken hilarious read if you've seen the movie!

Who would you tap: Jennifer Hawkins or Mirranda Kerr?

+1 Kerr.

Err, what :D

Hawko is roughly 10 billion times better looking than Kerr.

*edit* that being said, I'd spear them both but how the hell anyone would go Miranda Kerr over Jennifer Hawkins is beyond me :D

That was Clayton. He lived a few doors down from us (where his parents still live). They put the plastic barriers in Myer itself directly due to that.

They don't know if he was messing around, but he was sitting on the railing and the weight pulled him over and he fell from the top floor... managed to stay alive for 24 hours.

Sadly his sister suicided in July last year. I suspect partly because she never really dealt with his death, tho none of us will ever know for sure...

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
