Reuben, its not SMASA - SMASA is Street Machine Association of South Australia which was the previous show... tomorrow is Old School & New Age Auto Show :D

:P

Err ... I knew that :P

nomination for thread of the decade, almost cried with laughter a few times http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Co...ead-t56368.html

2 hours til works ends for the week, cant wait.

speaking of funny, while I was on the job and in the middle of filming, my phone rang (normally turn it off if I remember).

Looked at it on the bluetooth (which is setup for auto answer after a few rings) and there was Mr (smartass) Madaz's name?

I kept filming as the thing auto-answered just to have Rick Astley pumping thru my car speakers and onto my video....could've killed the bugger (and I probably still will)!!

Ah, that would have been priceless for the client :P

lol just got pulled over for absolutely nothing (apart from being guilty of driving an import) while on a drive with my mum :P

They followed me out of littlehampton for a few kays, I knew it was gonna happen. After they'd finished they turned around, meaning they only followed me out of the servo and 3/4kays down the road to pull me over (in a stock looking Silvia) :/

Had they been called for an actual emergency in Mt Barker or somewhere they'dve lost minutes on response time for the sake of hassling another import driver.

Even my mum said it was utterly pointless

Andrew, I got pulled over just then before just after lunch... just infront of my driveway! lol was in my dad's 4WD though - this silver VE Commodore speeding down the road to flick it's lights on just as I indicated to turn in my driveway... just to do a "random" license check.

    • I mean I agree. I've seemingly never had issues and I have RS4's in the rain, but I drive pretty slow in the rain, and I commute around on the street and pretty much never push it. But it's not like you're going to uncontrollably slide off the street with them in the rain. At least here in Aus. And I say this before I drive to Tassie in Winter. AS above, the term "Semi" is a bit of a misnomer. The ContiSportContact7 is also a "Semi" or a "UHP" tyre. It's the same category as an AD09 in any case.
    • These are not semis. None of the tyres in that comparo are semis. They are UHP tyres. Perfectly streetable. I'm on my second set of AD09, after using a couple of sets of AD08R. On the street. Every day. I get 15-20 thousand km out of them, which is perfectly acceptable. They are a really nice tyre to drive on. I have few, if any, complaints.
    • You'd hope, if it came from ACS, that it wouldn't be that.
    • Or the brand new throwout may be unhappy...
    • Thanks for the linkie. Certainly always a great deal of help when people post comparisons like these, but I think for now I'll stay away from any semi slicks. I did go ahead and order the sportcontact 7. My buddy has them on his modified A4 and he keeps saying how good they are. For my intended purposes these will probably work real well. I'll report on them once I had the chance to try them out
