Your ride height is far from low

if i had stiffer suspension it wouldnt bottom out.

these bilstiens, while being hard compared to std shocks, are spongy

writeoff can attest that when i was going to moonta last year, we'd hit a dip and my entire exhaust would bottom out on the tarmac and shoot a tonne of sparks, so much so that it ripped apart one of the welds on my muffler

its not about how low it is, its about how the ride height interacts with the suspension - i'd be fine if I had totally stiff suspension but thats not the case

Need coilovers

would be nice, but i need something thats street legal - got any tips on something that

a) rides nice on the street

b) is legal (or can be engineered)

c) is firm enough to handle well

d) doesnt bottom out

I got bilsteins atm but theyre the basic version (and probably getting long in the tooth)

If it wasn't an issue of legality I'd just buy the ISC coilovers and be done with it

Safe to assume an 02 sensor shouldn't be doing that an its probably farked?

/noob

Thanks!

Well actually yes that's what a narrow band O2 sensor will do when the engine is in closed loop mode. If you look at the voltage output from a narrow band sensor there is a big difference in the voltage between 14.6 and 14.8 and all the ECU does is aim above till it gets a low voltage and then aims below until it get's a high voltage, so by constantly going above and below it averages 14.7 which what we are looking for.

ok, are they off your car? I might see if my mechanic can fit it next week for me to test - I'll take it to and from loxton with your permission

manage to find all my stock parts for my suspension. Hopefully i can get it cleared by the end of next week.

Main thing im worried about are the gauges, and fitting up a brake light to the rear window.

Yeah they're from my car man.

I don't see a problem with you taking them to and from Loxton, I'm sure someone has some details about you incase you do a runner - LMAO

can I ask what steering wheel you had and what reason theyve given for it being illegal?

I have a rear window brakelight out of a 32-R that you can borrow if need be. Ive been too lazy to put it in mine. Only need power and double sided foam to make it work.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
