According to Mine's the engine was not bored for bigger pistons to preserve the reaction, which was posted on youtube. and it showed to be true, the rpm was revved up from 4rpm to 8.5rpm in mere miliseconds. but contradicting this are those stroker kits offered by HKS(2.7L) and Apexi(2.7 or 2.9L) kits and also the RB30DETT offered by tomei(Which needs the engine to be bored to fit in bigger pistons). which i think is also awesome cos i had a chance to sit in a 2.9L R34 GTR tuned by a well known local tuner. i felt that the response was not as i thought it would be. and the lag was there, but after 2 seconds everything kicked in and it blew me away. even with the power that these stroker kits offered,i was more concerned about the reaction of the engine. this comes in when taking in corners and i wouldn't want to have the stroker kit mess the traction jus because it stroker kit didn't respond quick enough.

So my main doubt is,wat are your comments on this subject? once the decision to bore the engine, there's no turning back, but in return more power but less response. :O

what other factors are you referrin to?

regarding the other parts of the car, most of it has been changed,

ECU : Power FC

Camshaft: Tomei

Cam pulley: Tomei

Fuel injectors: 800cc SARD

Hks timing belt

Fuel pump: 265L

Hks front pipe

Hks gt intercooler

trust oil cooler kit.

Hks evc 4

Hks intercooler piping

Tein monoflex with edfc

koyo radiator

sard radator hose

considering this are all external items, when it comes to pistons, crank shaft and crank pulleys,i would want something that delays the response as to me beating other cars on the strait road jus based on the horsepower,is something anybody can do. having an overall balance on the car is my aim.

bore size has very little to do with it (only a difference of 1.5mm maximum, and pistons prolly lighter if forged anyway)

it's the stroke, reciprocating weight and component balancing that makes all the difference to an engines eagerness to rev

thanks man. i'll look into these things and research more into the developement of the engine.

anyway,do you know how i can get to Hi-Torque Performance in melbourne? or are there any other places you would like to recommend?

Boring a block doesn't noticeably increase lag at all.

Your talking a poofteenth of space dude.

Boring a block is generally to get out imperfections when doing a rebuild due to a failure or otherwise (and hence why you are rebuilding).

Lag/response etc has far more to do with the turbo selection/tune and various other things
