Alrighty...

In the red corner we have the production models of R33 GTR listed as normal, VSpec, N1, Autech 4-door, 400R and LM (the blue one). This is what is stated by Nissan (even in the HyperRev 57 mag). This is widely considered as correct.

The R32 & R34 had (among others) VSpec and VSpec 2 models. The R33 did not.

...

In the blue corner, we have these pics of a Top Secrect demo car in Japan:

and

That badge sure as hell looks like VSpec II to me? Is it real or rice?

it could be a vspecII(Seen Vspec, Maybe a VspecII genuine r33 sitcker but they could of been a fake) but the sticker is from a R34, so i dont know if they couldnt find a r33 model one or they just are showing off that they have parts Stickers like that avaliable...

Looks like it has some sorta Kakimoto widebody kit on it. Can't be sure...its too dark. Damn it looks nice though? Where did you get the pic Jamezilla? Is that R logo illuminated on the bottom sideskirt or is just reflecting off something??? Anybody have any guesses......I second Merli...no such thing as an R33 V-Spec 11.....

Is a TopSecret demo/customer car.

I was only unsure as to if it was real - I wouldn't expect TopSecret to put a 'pretend' sticker on a car.

They foglamp is on - so it is a late model '33. The pic came from a member of the UK GTR club's website from a visit to Japan.... I was pretty sure there were no VSpecII in the R33 - but as I said, wasn't 100% :D

I think that's a Top Secret Customer Car. That isn't one of their demo cars, at least it wasn't at their workshop in January when I visited.

YBSLO4: Dude. There is no such thing as an R33 GTR VSpec II.

Did they claim it was a VSpec II? If so, that's very dodgy.

I went to a dealer on Parramatta Rd here in Sydney a few years ago, and had the dealer adamantly claim that it was a Series 2 GTS-t. It didn't have passenger airbag, series 2 steering wheel or series 2 headlights. The plate in the engine bay said it was a 1995... Dealers will spout anything they can think of to make a sale. Quite disgraceful actually.

Man he wouldn't stop abhout how rare and good the car was, i mean year it was brand new you could tell with that amount of KM's it was obvious it had barely been driven, but he bragged endlessly about the Vspec'II'?? That gets me so cut i swear, $71,000 and they still try and firggen stooge ya...

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
