Hi!

I'm shopping for a wideband 02 now. I was looking at getting an http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lm1.php, its USD349. Has some simple dataloging functions. And I can also buy a http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lma3.php later, if I will really need it though, for extra USD2XX.

What I've found is that they have a cheaper solution, just a wideband sensor - http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lc1.php. Which is USD200 sharp.

Have any of you used LM1 or other Innovative products ? I want to get some feedback from you guys.

I want to be able to do some road tunning on my car, we got no dynos here :)

Is LM1 really a better value package than LC1 ?

Looking forward to replies!

:(

i haven't had any experience with the innovative units, but i can tell you that if its got some datalogging ability it make its so much easier to use. especially an afr to rpm graph. i personally would go for just a wideband sensor and gauge, why not make the whole process easier and get the one with the datalogging. you'll thank yourself when it comes time to tuning. :)

I have the LC-1 connected to emanage ultimate for data logging. Works very well and easy to use. I did have the narrow band output running into the standard ecu but I think the updating of it was too fast for the ecu to run closed loop properly. Although, I think theres an option in it to slow the response time down. Cheap option for monitoring A/F ratio. Havent had it on dyno yet so I havent verified the accuracy of it against another A/F meter.

If I did it again I'd go for the innovative unit - my dad and I built the 2e0 kit from tech edge and what a mission - my soldering skills were a lot better by the time we finished.

Cheers

A friend just installed this unit, about $380 ready to go.

It's not really suitable to move from car to car for tuning, like the 2AO, 2EO or LM1, more of a permanent installation.

But once it's connected to the laptop you're away. Add datalogit as per usual.

i built one of the kits from techedge www.wb02.com and its great! it may have been the older 2a0 kit but i've not really had a problem with it at all.

also havnt used it a great deal either but they are great! i need to plug it into my fcon and attatch the sensor still

I like Tech Edge. The guy is there to support you whever you need support and he is really friendly and knows his stuff about his products.

I am using the 2mb USB version of the tech edge and have found it great. I love the green display and can also use it on laptop if i like.

I would send anyone to buy the tech edge models because of the support you get in return is jut great. Where other products you are buying from a US company who dont give two shits about your issues.

Go the Tech Edge, support local company's.

    • Does anyone sell a pipe that's made to go from the Greddy FMIC kit for ECR33 (RB25DET) to the Greddy intake manifold?
    • Not that I know from experience, but in theory you'd want your gate spring to be as close to target pressure as possible, so you'd go with the higher gate spring?
    • Before I commit to it as I already have the wastegate off the car, would you change it to the 9psi spring instead of the 12, or whack it back on now and try your suggestion?   Edit: Actually I might just swap the spring and see what the logs say after another few pulls, as we know it's still spiking without the Mac valve in the picture so I need more data without the Mac valve trying to combat the issue.
    • Sounds good Hmm suppose the main thing is, how much do you care about this car? The filler doesn't make for a very good water barrier lol. If there was a tiny little bit of rust forming now, that in 3 to 5 years time becomes obvious under the paint (starts to bubble up), would it bother you?
    • I already have the ability to datalog the voltage... what I can't do is correlate it to what the gauge is showing when I'm looking at the data at a later date. Or something like this. Except getting the oil to 125C+ involves me going 200+kmh at the track so you can imagine this is a little tricky unless I do something like note what the voltage is when I am at the top of 5th gear so I have a point to reference on. Drove car today. O2 still reading richer because hopefully not a leak instead of massive restriction I've introduced. Car really doesn't sound like a LS. It's quite strange. Pulled a bit of fuel out up top. This does potentially explain why my spark plugs looked like the car was running pretty over-rich. If I was tuning it to a ~12.7 which in reality was far richer than that in the past. It will be handy to have the dyno WB to compare my WB to to compare notes that's for sure. At this point I'm happy to just sit in the passenger seat and tune the thing given I've got about 7 million hours on the platform lol.
