It will definitely be a good check up to see if its safe to give the cars a bootfull in the warm weather. :D

Drinks are on ice. bbq is ready. See you all tomorrow people 10am the first car will roll up on the rollers.

Sounds like u want an explanation.. lol

I simply logged in to this thread clicked close on any pop ups (as i tend to get a couple of pms per day) posted what i had to post and then jumped out as I've been busy with both work and trying to get the bbq/drinks and crap sorted.

A big thanks to all those that came.

A lot of cars made some good power especially considering the heat.

The idiot in the soarer deserves a good smack around the head; he has brought upon him self considerable police attention so we will no doubt see a yellow sticker on his window some time soon for his loud running on 7 POS sounding exhaust.

Unfortunately due to his stupid antics police arrived soon after and gave Matty31 a hard time; thanks to the 'pretty boy' in his Soarer Matty is now out of pocket nearly $300. But as they say what goes around comes around. Got to love Karma.

The list of results is attached. If I have got anything wrong let me know and I'll fix it up.

Thanks again to 99% of the people that behaved. Was a great turn out.

Your short .8rwkw for me

It was a great day... apart from the heat DAYUM! Other than that it was an enjoyable day got a video I'll see what I can do with it!

It was a bit of a downer having that green soarer ruin things a bit... I guess he couldnt take it that his V8 got only 140 something kw compared with how much the Skylines were making. He also just had to do it again after he was told not to aswell when he left!

well unfortunately i wasnt able to bring my car down, good thing i didnt in the end with the cops showing up. Was good to see a decent turnout considering the weather and im sure cars would have run a little lower power than on a 20 degree day.

Sucks what happened to you matty, hopefully dude in the soarer cops the full brunt of that cop and hopefully makes look like what you got a small slap on the wrist lol.

Was good to catch up with people again, for those that still dont know me i was in the random BA falcon with flick. It will have an SAU sticker soon to be more noticeable lol.

vus working on cutting out all the video that myself and him filmed as we speak!

not a good day out for matty, that was a bit of BS but atleast you keep your license and not sent to court! The guy with the soarer belted it up and down the road half a dozen times and short after that SAPOL was in attendance. Since he was gone, matty took the wrap and will need a stiff drink or 2 tonight.

appart from that was an awesome turnout. some extremely good results from some people (sambo, steve etc)

If you can't be bothered with editing out the number plates I can host it if you wish and we can then send links around to a few of us..

By any chance you didn't get the Soarer on vid did you? Both on the dyno and up/down the street?

    • You will now be able to lift the parcel shelf trim enough to get to the shock cover bolts; if you need to full remove the parcel shelf trim for some reason you also remove the escutcheons around the rear seat release and you will have to unplug the high stop light wiring from the boot. Next up is removal of the bracket; 6 nuts and a bolt Good news, you've finally got to the strut top! Remove the dust cover and the 3 shock mount nuts (perhaps leave 1 on lightly for now....) Same on the other side, but easier now you've done it all before
    • OK, so a bunch of trim needs to come off to get to the rear shock top mounts. Once the seat is out of the way, the plastic trim needs to come off. Remove 2 clips at the top then slide the trim towards the centre of the car to clear the lower clip Next you need to be able to lift the parcel shelf, which means you need to remove the mid dark trim around the door, and then the upper light trim above the parcel shelf. The mid trim has a clip in the middle to remove first, then lift the lowest trim off the top of the mid trim (unclips). At the top there is a hidden clip on the inner side to release first by pulling inwards, then the main clip releases by pulling the top towards the front of the car. The door seal comes off with the trim, just put them aside. The the lighter upper trim, this is easy to break to top clips so take it carefully. There is a hidden clip towards the bottom and another in the middle to release first by pulling inwards. Once they are out, there are 3 clips along the rear windscreen side of the panel that are hard to get under. This is what the rear of the panel looks like to assist:
    • Yes. Autos typically work from the speed sensor on the pinion shaft of the diff. I also think that even if you have a proper speed sensor for the bog manual in the manual box, that the signal it outputs is not compatible with the auto dash anyway. You should consult that manual (the book, not the gearbox).
    • And I just realised that that advice is slightly nonsensical for a GTR, because you need 2 of them. But it is otherwise true.
    • Having had a reasonable look at the car, I'll be able to remove the (one time) rams and retract the hinge (they are held in the down location by a tiny (m3?) sacrificial screw) which will get it physically back in shape. From there if you remove the rams you need a resistor to turn off the airbag light (as Mark said, there are plug in kits and I might go that way because its reversible). And...per all the threads on here, even if you have the resistors to turn off the airbag light, the bonnet light will stay on as it writes to the airbag computer history - that is either replace the airbag controller, reprogam the EPROM (if I can work out how), or remove the globe from the dash. Having seen how sensitive this system is, if I had my time over I'd pre-emptively remove the rams, even on a road car, because this is all a very unnecessary pain in the arse. Reminds me, time to go and have a look at the Fuga too....
