Hi there I was wondering if you peeps could give me some helpful answers.

I just got my X-FORCE dump pipes today, spent pritty much all day getting to the turbos and taking them off to mount on the new dumps, but I’ve come across a problem. The dump pipe is touching the turbo inlet piping on turbo no.2, I was thinking at high temperatures would the inlet melt? I have tried to move the turbo as much as I could away from it but still pritty close, its still giving me a 1-2mm clearance. what’s my way around this?

thanks..

Mate maybe speak to the people that sold you the dumps see what they say.I think it should have more

clearance than that.A option rap the dumps in heat rap tape this will avoid burning any thing, they will glow

red hot after a few laps around a track. One thing I have found is that nothing is a bolt on fit you always

have to mod it to fit properly.Good luck

When i got my X force 3.5 inch system i had it installed by a reputable installer and the dumps and front pipe where not correctly made to measure, as in it was only 1 or 3mm away from the chassis rails and i would hit for sure. Also where the dumps bolt to the turbos because of the tight tolerances when trying to bolt the exhaust on there was alot of pressure on them which would mean with the bumps etc the gaskets would eventually leak gas out, everything was just to tight a fit. So they just cut and angled the front pipe a little to clear away from the chassis rails and that in turn made alot less tension on the exhaust system. Shit you dont want a flange leak its hard enough to do a exhaust dump pipe change as it is, that was the only problem i came across, i even rang up X force and they wouldnt agree but DID not disagree, i was easy to see, did that and have never had a problem with it and i have had it on now for 8 months and drag raced the crap out of my gtr and its still perfect with plenty of clearance.

    • I've replaced the front brakes of my NA to 324 brembos and 350z calipers: i'm going for 225/40-18 up front and 245/35-18 in the back. I have Rays 7.5*19 ET35(225/35) in the front with 5mm spacers otherwise the calipers "lock up/ won't rotate". When i use the calculator i come up with 8*18 ET30 for 225/40...... but not sure i get problems with the calipers. Anyone riding around with 18 inch. that can confirm "that it'll fit"? In the back it's 7.5*9 ET30 (245/30) with the 5mm spacers, but there is no problem with the standard small brakes, so i want to take 8.5*18 ET25 (245/35).
    • Lol.. but then.. always come back to a JDM..
    • Glad to hear. If possible, get your tuner to check air's to make sure everything is still where it should be.
    • The problem with FB/Insta/Reddit etc comments relating to cars is simple. You get to ask a question once, and get one round of replies. For things that can actually be answered in a few lines of text, once, it's fine. After 6 hours, your original question is lost to the void. There are no follow ups, additional questions, anything. No project car is ever such a simple list of questions to ask. You need discussion.
    • Welcome.  Here's what I have noticed about forum vs FB..... FB; seems to be wallet racing, and the same few questions asked over and over. There *may* be some groups that are closer knit, but most have changed for the worse. SAU; unfortunately, no longer in its glory days. But....genuine people with similar interests. Not all about how much you spent and saying you dont have enough power. Sooooooo much knowledge available. Have personally seen people post up about literally topics I made myself, asking on FB like no one has done it before. Most has been done, and most of that is here.   If you ever feel like just general chatting theres the wasteland.  Other interests are also generally covered in other areas of the forum. Hope you enjoy hanging around. We would love to have you.   P.s. nice 32 😀
