hey all, anyone in the parra/hornsby/epping area might have bits to lend me for a little bit.

not sure if i need it. so if you guys can clarify based on my situation let me know.

I got defected for tyres and exhaust.

however the cop didnt tick the exhaust box he just wrote it.

also he's ticked full inspection so does that mean they will check bov and pod and tints as well as the tyres and exhaust???

also on a side note....

can you still drive round on 0 demerits? i've heard you can, ie you need to loose more than 12pts to loose ur licence

full inspection means you'll need to take it to a place that does blue slips, you dont actually need a blue slip though.

they just need to fill out the bottom of the form they gave you.

all you'll need to clear the defects are new tyres and a quiet exhaust.

hmmm, just checked the rta web site, theres a unrestricted good behaviour licence, ne1 heard of these?

are they worth it or should i bite the bullet and take the 3months? if i get the good behaviour licence does that effectively mean my licence was not suspended?

it was bs i was crusing down the hill at night not intentionally speeding, highway cop coming the other way chucks a handbrakie and comes chasing after me =/

i was 2 mins from home....2 mins...

you trade off your 3 month suspension for a 6month or 1yr suspension with just 1 point to spare.

you can only choose to do that if you have your full license.

if you get a demerit point within the good behavior period you lose your license for 6 months (i think).

I haven't lost 1 point for the last 5 years that I've been driving lol

Most of them are to either cover a mate who's got no points left

or my dad who's a taxi driver (self-explanatory)

dont jinks urself lol, i lost all my pts in the space of a year after 4 years clean. i was saying the same thing....

what can I say? I'm a smart driver and since I installed that stupid sports muffler

I won't be dragging or speeding as much, because:

1)my liner won't go anywhere over 150km/hr,

2)it consumes more fuel

3)and doesn't change the gears (its an auto) as smoothly when you floor it.

Besides all that it gives a great deep sound which compensates 4 it all

defect cleared! W000T!

but i will be suspended....

now....who wants to buy a skyline?

Expressions of interest at this stage lol

*sigh* im gonna miss my line...

    • Hope you aren't too sore after that one, might take a day or 2 to notice yet and I guess it is a loooooong drive home. On the bright side, tube frame front end is a thing at superlap, right?

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same. There are plenty of discussions on here about this issue from al the many years of people wanting a cheap/accessible option. https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/ https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/grm/learn-me-brake-proportioning-valves/236880/page1/
    • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
