i have no idea why i didn't think about this, but is there anything stopping us R34 owners with Xenon assembly's, but hacked due to compliance, from getting D2R kits and get an OEM light output?????

I thought i wrote this idea off for some reason, but can't remember why....

I don't see why not. As long as the ballast and globes are good quality it should be fine as far as I know.

"auto group buy" he can supply me HID kit with D2R globe!!!

is bosch good brand? other than kaixen or phillips and hellar?

If I were you and could get some bosch items over the cheapo ones on ebay, I'd get them. I just think of it as, "If I know what the brand is, it must be good." haha, if it's some random company, then it's probably shit.

You just need to replace the globe with a higher kelvin. I think standard would be 4300K which give the best, whitest light. If you want a blue to it, you should get 6000k, but I don't know if they make them at this temperature for the D2R's.

Don't get the 6000k in my opinion. They look too ricey and you'll get a much higher chance of getting pulled over with them. Stick with the 4300k.

R33 Turbo you only need to change bulb if you have HID kit already installed. 6000k is more bluish. Haines posted a pic in my section as he ordered D2R in 6000K and see the difference in light.

Tyaos, Philips and Bosch are top quality brands but to compare may be check HIDplanet.com and post there to get opinion. i've never tried Philips but i heard they are really good as well.

yes phillips are really good but really expensive..

Hi Paul,

It comes with 1 year dustproof and waterproof manufacturer warranty. Lot of people installed and i didn't have any negative feedback from anyone yet :-). 666DAn is right please check your bulb before ordering to see if the sockets are not played around by compliance. Do you have D2R bulb right now in your car? PM me when you're ready. I'll have to order the kit since i don't keep in stock and takes 3 days from day we receive payment for kit to be available. Yup rockdale is near airport.

Cheers,

Manu

no i dont have D2R globes in my car.. will the kit comes with D2R globes right?

ill let you know when im ready!!

thanks!

paul

What globes do you have now in your car? Check the back of the globe. If you don't have D2r now chances are D2R won't fit. Let me know what bulb you've when you're ready to order.

Kit comes with 2 ballasts, 2 bulbs and necessary wires and sockets.

Cheers,

Manu

Sorry i just checked your post before that you got H1 bulb currently. Why don't you go with H1 HID kit then? I think you can install D2R as well but you'll need extra wiring and socket because D2r doesn't come with sockets and wires.

The H1 globes aren't designed to suite his headlight housing because they were made for D2R globes. He wants to get the factory light output. All the H1 globes are going to do is cause glare and hot spots. Just as bad as 33's with HID kits.

Tyaos, so sorry mate, but that's what i forgot to tell you.

Compliance puts this metal piece in the socket for where the globe sits to make it fit an H1 globe. So basically, the sockets for the H1 globes in our headlights can't take D2r's at the moment, we have to remove the metal piece they put in.

AFTER that, we can go nuts on the D2R kits. That's what i was saying to you via PM that i remember there was something stopping me from just going straight back to D2R but couldn't remember what. That "something" is the metal piece they insert in the socket.

It's glued or welded in there, and i have a feeling we'd have to take the headlight apart to get to it.

666DAN: You're one of the ultimate handy-men when it comes to 34's, would we need to oven our headlights to take the H1 insert out??

cheers,

daniel

actually the metal part in my headlight is very loosened...... the compliancer was must've been lazy..actually its like an adpater....i was wondered what the hell is this when i changed my light bulb when it was bursted.. anyway as long as its been loose and easy to take it out (its not even easy, if i pull the light bulb out it comes with it...-.-;; lol)

i can possilbly install D2R without any modification right?

thanks guys

horray~yes!!

i think ill be fine with D2R!!!

ill be check with one of the auto electrician to make sure and ill let you know manu!!!

Thanks guys!!!

Hi beam wasn't even Xenon from factory as far as i know? You can only really have hi beam Xenon with is always on with lo beam, but a shield use to block the hi-beam light until you need it. Xenons don't really flick straight on like halogens, so hi-beam is a slight different story

Yeah, I was going to say something like this. It's not recommended that you flash HID globes on and off quickly. With the high beams, that's what you're pretty much going to do. I don't see why Nissan used HID's for the high beams. The other car's with HID high beams have high and low beams in the one projector with a shield like you mentioned.

    • Apologies for the long post, but needed somewhere to lay out the entire timeline of events and actions taken:   I've got an 89 GTR with a R34 RB in it. It's been running great all year, driven probably 500KM in the last month. It's not my daily driver, just a weekend fun car.    Build info: R34 RB26 - HKS 2.7 stroker kit, HKS adjustable cam gears, HKS turbo upgrades, Trust intercooler, R34 factory DENSO 440cc injectors, JUN chipped/tuned R32 ECU. All of this work was performed in Japan back in 2019.    Thursday 10/2/25 - It's a nice day and decided I'll drive it to work, I start it up in the garage and I notice it took a few extra cranks and sounded a bit funny. I figure maybe it was just because it was a pretty chilly morning. I pull it out into the driveway to warm up a bit before leaving. As I leave the driveway, it feels very off and sounds like a misfire. I pull it back in the garage to deal with after work and take the daily to work. I was able to diagnose it as a cylinder 5 misfire with the old spark plug test (unplugging each plug until a sound change with the engine running). I take off the whole ignition system, ignitor, plugs, spark. *Important note, it is still on the R32 ignition system with the separate ignitor system. I test each system with a multi-meter and nothing presents as a smoking gun. I put it all back together and it starts up no issue. I go ahead and order the PRP R35 ignition conversion kit. It should arrive today (10/13/25)   Friday 10/3/25 - Another nice day, car starts up great and drives great all day. Very pleased that everything seems to be OK   Sunday 10/5/25 - Decided I'll take it to play some golf, load up and drive to the course about 25 minutes away. Drives wonderful the whole way there, I pull in the parking lot and the engine completely comes to a stop. I do not recall if it sputtered at all, but just remember all of the sudden the engine was off. I roll it into a parking spot, try to crank it back on and nothing.  It'll crank and crank and not even try to start. End up getting it towed back to my house and push it up into the garage.    Items I have checked: Fuel in the tank Fuel Pump relay Fuel pump fuse  Spark Plugs & gap Coil packs Ignitor    I know the cylinders are getting fuel as the plugs smell like fuel after a start attempt. I tried spraying starter fluid into the manifold and cranking and not even a sputter.    I decided to do the live CAS test (removing the the CAS, ignition on and spinning the CAS stalk to see if the injectors pulse and spark is active). All of the injectors were pulsing and I have spark at the plug. The half-moon end of the CAS did seem very loose, I'm not sure how much play is supposed to be there, but it was more than I expected. There was no in/out play of the shaft, just the tip end that is pinned on had quite a bit of play.    CAS Play video   When I put the CAS back in, I stupidly did not re-time the engine. I know I need to do that tonight, however, I do not think it will start given it seemingly was not the issue. My plan is to do the PRP R35 coil kit and retime the engine at the same time.    I plan on ordering the Haltech Nexus Plug-in ECU once they are available again, but ideally would like to get this sorted before firing the parts cannon at it and potentially adding more variables.    Anything glaring that I am missing here, I'm a bit at a loss?
    • Get it on a dyno. Get something logging Consult. Run it up and find out what is causing it.
    • Looking for a plenum for rb25 de+t neo  Not looking to push much power maybe 300kw at the wheels, is there much difference in flow for Freddy “Greddy style” compared to original Greddy or options like Proflow or Otaku garage?    I won’t be porting the de Neo head for now as I think it’ll be fine 280-300rwkw but appreciate the help and any experiences anyone has between them and any advice.
