Hi Guys i havnt posted for a while being in year 12 and all finishing my last few exams. i no this is a newbee question and all but as you can all see from my username that i got a non- turbo 33 (series 2). since i got this car i always knew i was going to get a 33 turbo at the end of the year after my exams have finished... personal reasons why i didnt get one at the start.

Anyway my question for you guys is that i no a few mates of mine whoo have got R33's series 2 turbo manuals for fairly cheap prices im talking between $13'800 - $15000 grand and they were in excellent condition. For me i really dont no where to look. Occasionaly i see them in private sales going for that cheap but there snapped up quickly. anyway what im trying to say to you guys is do you no any dealers or importers who do get rid of them for that price cause i no there out there and it can be done. I still got a week left of exams then im putting my car on the market and the big search is on for my series 2 r33 turbo. if any of you guys can point me in the direction of good dealers in SA or importers who sell them in that price range that would be great. i no auto tech had a white one a while ago for around 14 grand but i think thats gone. and sorry to ramble on like this. any help would be great thanks.

thanks again

bro if i was you id keep an eye on the For Sale (Private Whole cars only) forum, i know some cars are not local and most inter-state but there are some good cars on there for cheap and people will respect you for looking for a skyline from the forums.

I foound my car on there and im sure many others did 2!

give it a month and you'll find a nice 33 series 2 on there :D

good luck on your buy

yeh i prefer buying private from someone not importing the car, im not really into doing the whole over the net or putting a deposit on a car that i have only seen in pictures.

Do you think what im looking for is reasonable or do you guys reckon its a price that rarely comes along??

they are private sales bro. i spoke to about 20-30 people about R32s and actually drove out and looked at about 15 cars. no1 will ask for a deposit for a car without u looking at it, if they do then u know not to go there. there is nothing is wrong with finding a car over the net.

yes your price is reasonable but im telling you thats where you should at least start to look.

Think he was talking about importing when he said "im not really into doing the whole over the net or putting a deposit on a car that i have only seen in pictures."

When I bought my car I had 2 pictures and an auction sheet! Gosh that was nerve wrecking but it turned out fine... and better than I originally thought! :)

I imported through Elite Auto Imports @ http://www.rpmlounge.com.au/forums/ - local Adelaide guy, highly recommended was always an sms away when I have a question for feeling uneasy about where my big wad of cash was going towards!

EDIT--

Basically im looking for places like auto tech imports, not car yards but like importers who bring in cars for you but still have some in stock so you can go and look at them, just like auto tech, lol its the only one i no.

i want to stay away for the buying the car over the net thing if i can go to an importer and they have 33's in stock that would be better and i no they would be cheaper then a regular car yard, so basically i want to know where these places are in Adelaide. thanks again for all your help so far i no i been a pain lol

  • 2 weeks later...

does it have to be a series 2 or will you be ok with a series 1....there isnt a whole lot of difference between the 2 and personally i have a series 1 that kicks ass man....try going to rpmlounge.com.au and look through the import district section of the forum and yeah dave the importer Elite Auto Imports has imported a lot of good cars for my mates and they have been in immaculate condition so if ur looking for a cheaper option then sometimes importing is better as the aussie dollar is strong atm

    • I have more than enough digging, laying blocks, moving gravel, airrating, feeding and top soiling the grass, and setting up the veggie gardens growing some seedlings,  and then removing all the unused rock to keep me busy for the next few months at least,  hopefully the rain stops soon so I can get a few hours in this arvo, but, before that Sunday is washing day, is every body happy, you bet your life we are Nice country road day drives are a day off whenever I'm muscle sore from all the landscaping at the moment, but, more epic multiple day drives will start once the majority of the big jobs outside are completed
    • I hear that would involve some nice country road drives into the hills for Mark...
    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
    • You can use your VIN to look up the factory part number somewhere like amayama, and then look to order new if necessary. https://www.amayama.com/en/genuine-catalogs/nissan Depending on price you might want to rebuild instead. @GTSBoy I had an interesting insight into US market parts when the Titan rear calipers were sticking. New calipers were dirt cheap, about 20% more than a rebuild kit....they are just considered throw away maintenance items
