hey man, go to midland if u can....ive been through 5 times and they have been really leniant, example, had my tints dark and they said it was a minimal mod so they let me through and asked me to get them removed....

they are good, compared to other places. Also all my mates have imports and they go there alot too and never have a fuss

There's nothing wrong with a corolla! They never die.....

How did this subject end up on corollas?

thank you! bcoz he was bagging mine out :verymad: u wait till 2morro night when i get my 13.5 sec down the 1/4 :)

anyways back on topic, welshpool are good, but like i was saying before it all depends on who you get

Once again, the guys at Midland pits have done the righty by me. Got the sticker off this morning and the inspector was very nice.. he even joked about seeing me next week because the cops like to pick on cars like mine, he on the other hand, said he quite enjoyed them and that they are nice cars. Top bloke :(

Already had permits for fmic, pod, full exhaust, adjustable suspension (coilovers, swaybars, camber/castor bushes) and bov. Also have an RB30DET in there.. so I would say far from stock :w00t:

haha dude just bite the bullet n take it over the pits man nothing bad will come of it trust me on that

they may give you a few more work order items they may even take some of the police officer's orders off!

but you gotta get it done dude!!

Yeah, or if your chasing permits you can wait a month to hear back if your application is accepted or not, then talk to an engineer who will tell you he is doing about 5-10 cars right now & won't be able to get to yours for a while. Then he can tell you once he's run the tests etc and that paperwork gets handed back to the DPI, it's another month or whatever to find out if that's accepted for final approval. /no lube

Anyone got a gun? Will pay for death.

easy tiger everything takes time yeah its slow at times but thats just the way it goes after all there is alot of people applying for permits, engineers going through 5-10 cars daily etc thats just the price you pay i guess for owning an import(modified vehicle) you need to be prepared to have these hiccups. It sucks thats for sure but at the end of the day its your car and you choose what you drive :P

Sounds like i should of taken the VL down to midland instead. I went to East Perth and i only passed it on the 4th time because they kept "finding" new shit wrong at each inspection.

There is this guy their ( i call him Himal) because he is an inspection Nazi ) and he wont pass anything. I saw him fail a few brand new cars ffs.

they aren't supposed to find new things wrong!

their job is for INSPECTION

to get EVERYTHING diagnosed, then RE-INSPECTED to check the work order

golly, they need to find these things in the first place unless it's major enviro / road safety issue ie oil leaks / broken steering boots / failing brakes etc

GOLLY GOSH

wuick thing about those mod permits, they take a long time, and as previously stated, the police and the DPI have NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER

so you can have all these stupid permits but if i police officer wants to defect your car he will permits or not

and if you have mods then you can get them over the pits regardless of mods or not

i don't even know why they have them i guess it's to keep some jobs in DPI but still the DPI don't care about them n neither do the police?

    • Thanks mate, couldn't find in VIC, ended up ordering one from NSW, getting rwc to get new plates and registration done.
    • Before all the EFR fan boys come in, have a look at: https://www.garrettmotion.com/racing-and-performance/performance-catalog/turbo/g-series-ii-g30-825-58mm/ It also comes in a T4 1.06 divided housing. I would dare say if you want response & also decent power, this thing would chop.   AND apologies, just re-read your post, you've already bought the turbo... whatever you do, make sure you stick with divided housing and proper twin scroll manifold.
    • People have got to stop doing that. ShatGPT is not a search engine. It is a hallucination factory.   I also would recommend the 1.05. The .83 will "work" for you , in that it will be more responsive, but I think you'll find that it won't be anywhere near as good running it out to 8000rpm as the big housing will be.
    • Decided for the first time ever I would tow my car TO the track day on the same working theory as bringing tools and spares "if I have it I wont need it, but if I leave it behind i will 100% need it" all setup and ready to go out and try these A050 for the first time First session showed I needed to stiffen up the dampers a touch but still managed a few 1:21's without much effort. things were looking good. Came in a dropped the tyres down  to 26/28 as they had gotten to 35/33C from 22C cold The first lap of session two I managed to drop into 1:20's. Then in the second lap into the second session. Coming into T3 and I suddenly lost brake pedal followed by some huge rear end vibrations and scraping sounds. Got it back into the pits after session ended and found this. in the attached video, all of the wobble is in the hub its self, wheel is mint, and bearing feels tight. lKXLqpd - Imgur.mp4   Deciding it was a bent spindle I tried to find bearing/hub assembly locally but was unsuccessful so it was loaded back onto the trailer i luckily brought it on to drag it back home
