Hey guys, just put on a cooler on my 1993 r32 type M.. anyway the front bumper isnt fitting so had to put on an aftermarket one but i want to use the type M bumper to attract less attraction from cops (dont want to have the car looking too flashy) ive been told that i'd have to cut the typeM bumper so that it wuld fit on but too much of it would need cutting, anyone else have suggestions?

oh and with the other bumper i have its a bit damaged, how much would it cost to get it touched up to look new again?

thanks

I have a R32 GTS4 Type M, Ive got a nice big FMIC in behind mine at the moment. Fitted it all and modded the bar with a mate, pretty much all u need to do is angle grind (best way even though it sounds dodge) the front vent where it comes inward towards the engine bay. I also removed the small verticle middle segment in that front vent and after some checking (make sure ure cooler is pretty much mounted - which i believe yours to be) you can fit it up. Anyone can do it if you take ure time and arn't a retard on the angle grinder. Mine looks stock and perfectly mounted but theres a big FMIC in there. Hope this helps

Cheers.

Hey

You can cut the shit out of the back of the bumper and make it fit.

I got a 600*300 cooler on my car and I was using a stock GTS front bumper, I just cut the back of it and it fitted on perfect.

If you want to get your bumper repaired, cracked/damaged etc I can recommend a guy who does a mint job for a good price.

Let me know how you go.

Abu

Hey Abu,

Yeah thats cool can you PM me the details of that guy? You saw my bumper last time how screwed it was lol. I was thinking of cutting the typeM bumper but now im thinkin ill just get my current front bumper that i got from a friend repaired and just keeping that because it looks alot better so yeah if I can get the details off you that would be great.

Thx

Hahaha not a problem man.

I sent you a PM with the details.

if you want the ultimate solution for a FMIC on a GTSt then what you need is an original GTR bumper

that's the original nissan plastic front bumper - not the cheap fibreglass copiesthat are made for the GTSt but look like GTR bumpers

it bolts to the GTSt without modification, and because the GTR comes standard with a FMIC there is plenty of room for the FMIC you have added

plus, in my opinion, its the BEST looking front that any R32 can have (see picture)

Hmmm i went to the place Abu recommended but because its fibreglass and theres alot of cracks it pretty much needs to be completely remade with glass which he said would cost about $250. He said it might be a better idea to just buy a new front bumper because it would be around the same price but i havent seen an R32 before with this bumper and it really suits the car which is why i wanted to get it repaired. But now im thinking maybe to just get the original typeM bumper and getting it cut out the back from that bumper place to fit. I dont really know anyone with an angle grinder that can do a proper job for me..

So yeah im just thinking about what to do now. Im not really into the GTR bumper because so many cars have them.

Edit: Attached a few pics of my car.

the thing is, the GTR bumper was actually made to match the rest of the car, unlike the bumper you have now

compare the typeM bumper to the GTR bumper and you will see that it looks like arse in comparison

i bought a second-hand original R32 GTR bumper off the forums for $250 a while back. i know that's cheap, but for even a couple of hundred more you can have the bumper that was designed for that shape and designed to fit a massive FMIC behind it as stock

whatever you do, best of luck.

Hmmmm yeah its definately something to think about, but adam sent me a few pictures of his cut front bar and that looks pretty good so i think ill just go with getting my old Type-M bar from my mates place then getting the back part cut as well as the front mouth where the grills are then just chucking it back on.. that way i can hold off on my respray for a bit while i collect cash because the bar i have on right now is grey so yeah... Ill give that a try first and if it looks good and fits fine ill leave it until i think about getting a new kit maybe a Vertex or something

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
