This would be awesome to attend!

But sadly even if my car was back on the road im without license till April :D

Im seriously considering (when i can) heading over to Victoria for a SAU track day that the guys over there hold regularly.

Awesome that you guys have organised this!!!!

The Vics are fantastic people and always put on a good "event, cruise, party, dinner" :) so you guys will have loads of fun!!

I hope some of you do decide to go to shepparton and enter a DECA next year..thats where the real fun is at!!!

Will hopefully have 3 states representing....as some stage!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Cuz i thought this should be advertised a little better..... I've recently put a couple of bulletin's up on my myspace, as a majority of people are all import owners  most are skylines i must admit, but others are s14's, 180's, laurals, cefiro's and maybe some rotors :P

I'll paste what was posted.....I contacted a few mates in NSW off of SAU aswell.. they are driving down to Melb to meet us there :(

Please note, there is no cut off time as to when you book YOUR accomodation. Bunny and I are booking our own accomodation, and its up to YOU to book your own. Its too hard to sit and wait for definate answers, (i've learnt this in the past)

This was put on myspace (www.myspace.com/her200sx

Accomodation.....

Staying at EASYSTAY - Castle St, St Kilda

Ph 03 9525 3833 (however please check with Bunny33, as this company may have referred us to another hotel near it with more room for a big group of people)

Its $140 per night for 2 people......

HOWEVER....

if u pay $15 x 2 extra beds to be put in the room... total $170

Divide by 4 people

equals $42.5 PER NIGHT

times that by 3 nights..... equals $127.50 for the weekend...

If u pay $8 per night.. ur car gets LOCKED UP :)

We are meeting at the bottom of the freeway, Adelaide... left there is a small car park just after the Mobil Petrol Station. at 5.30 IN THE MORNING!! doh that's gonna hurt! haha..

Once again.. from the 25th - 28th..

U gotta take the friday off... take a sicky or something! lol

The first bulletin i posted... 10 people emailed straight away... so heaps are keen.. its on www.skylinesaustralia.com aswell.

My mates from NSW have been waiting on me to tell them when we are heading there... so they will drive from their state to meet us.

So... as you can see... a fair few people now know about this that may be joining.. last time we had a road trip up to melb.. we met the SAU guys and Ns.com guys up there. They took us to their favourite areas... we met heaps of people.. we bumped into massive cruises.. and of course hit the shops!

Seriously can't wait. :)

sorry i didnt reply earlier, but yeah, im out =(

dont really want to drive my car all the way to melb, esp by myself, and if i did i'd probably have to go into traction as soon as i get their coz my suspension is a bit too hard =P

so i hope everyone that is going enjoys the trip!! (im sure you will)

btw bunny, whens the next time motul is on sale? im due for an oil change =P

    • http://calfinn.com.au/product/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c   I have this and fits under a S3 33 GTR with no issues. Purchased in 2009 and not one issue. It was $950 back then. Not cheap but something so important isn’t worth cheaping out on.
    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
