94 Skyline R33 GTS25

fully stock

97000k's

9990 + compliance and insurance

and compliance i believe will be 2000 and insurance 2600

18 you say.... how u get insurance, cos its pretty hard to find insurance these days.... especially considering your age, and u have no driving experience im 22 & i had to go undr my dads name as registered driver, still cost me 2400

its got a shit load of ks on it !

my 93 R33 only had ~62,000 don't remember exact

compliance will be me around 4k these days.. Also on top of that you will need to pay stamp duty ... 4% of total purchase price... so about $450.. + rego of $450.

also, as its on 97k, you will need to change the timing belt in 3000 km, another 400 or so.. so im sure you could get a better deal.

oh okay, thats a lot of help. How much would a timming belt cost?yeah this one i was looking at has already landed, its in a car yard in dandenong, "power road car sales"

Thanks redline, so you reckon try to find another with less k's or something in the trading post. And they guy told me the compliance would be 2k so if i dont get it now will it be around the 4k in the next few months ?

I would have said a 94 with 100,000km wasn't bad at all. It suggests it hasn't been wound back.

That said, you're coming up to your 100,000km service, which will add to the cost (assuming you plan on doing it). I bought my 93 GTS25t with 99,900 km on it, but it had just had its big service. The one you're looking at may have had this done early. Check up on it.

Are you sure that $9990 price wasn't including all compliancing and shipping costs? $9990 is more than what the GTS-t's get sold for in the auction yards. I'm pretty sure at an auction yard a non turbo would sell for around 300 thousand yen or less, which is only around $4000.

If it's $9990 all-up, then that's a pretty good price. If you need to pay for more stuff on top of that, then find yourself another dealer because he's ripping you off bigtime. A good condition GTS25t will cost around $8000 from the auction yards, so around $15000 or less landed/complied/registered.

I picked my car up 94 R33 Stock excpet for Mags and steering wheel.. cost me $17,000 on road.. .. i would rather get a stock car.. also most of the cars out of Japan have had the K's wound back so i'd rather get one that looks like it hasnt been wound back.. usually you can have a general idea by the condition of the car i mean if the steering wheel is worn out and the seats are abit worn and the clock says its only done 30,000Kms thenyou know its a bit dodgy... mine has 114,0000km.. i think thats pretty good.. when you compare them to the Kms on local cars of the same age.

k thanks alot, thats all really helpfull. I dont know anything about importing one myself or buying it from an auction. so i'll probably just end up getting it from a yard i'll do a bit more looking around now to see what else is for offer. Can anyway give me some good car yards or links to a place :burnout:

    • A few suggestions: Do you have the option of retarding your exhaust cam gear to bring the power band over to the left? VCT would be turned off after you make peak torque, you see the power/torque will decay faster with it left on all the way to the limiter Once VCT is turned off, you'll find the motor will take a bit more timing being ramped in Send its mum, more boost! Of course, depends on your exhaust pressure.

    • I was back on the dyno again yesterday after completely revamping my methanol injection system. I was making 440kw at 19psi. Great, this is more then I was making last summer with my old meth system at that pressure, and I figured it would be smooth sailing up to 30+psi. We continued increasing from there and by 25psi, I had only hit 455kw. Dyno sadly lost utility power at this point and I left. We seemed to be on course to hit the same power wall as last summer (477kw@27psi). This is a built RB25 S1 stroked to a 2.8. Built and ported head with Kelford 272/262 cams. Precision 6466 Turbo. Tuner last year believed the power wall is a mix of RPM limitations (Hydro lifters/Limit set at 7600RPM) and fueling. With my new meth system, we're seeing zero knock now but it still won't go up.  What else can I do at this point? Here's my train of thought.  - It's clear from the dyno graph that I would easily make power to 8500+RPM but I'm limited to 7600RPM. I could risk increasing my limiter, but hydro lifters have me worried. What are my options here besides going NEO head or solid lifter conversion? I'm rocking a 1.05AR turbine on my 6466. Would dropping down to a .84 help shift that power down in anyway? - We're only seeing roughly a 30kw difference at the top end with VCT on or off. Is this normal? I want to confirm VCT is working properly. - Should I look into other cam options?  - Should I just keep increasing boost and see if she wakes up later on? I would expect to hit 600rwkw around 35psi with my 6466.
    • First thought is to use a ram mount (to hold the ipad) + windscreen suction mount. The arms on the ram mount can be as long as you like, should be able to position the ipad pretty well with that setup.
