Anyone Need To Be In Queensland Early Next Week?

Recommended Posts

Pffft. Haters :)

It's a gem of a car. About the only thing you can't do in 6th is roll off the line but it will pull away nicely from 50kmh cruising through small towns.

Now looking for the cash to get membership.....or hopefully James can call on me again.

And.....I didn't fill the tank but it needs detailing before next use anyway. Bugs vs RS4 = no contest. And auto wipers FTW!!

More detail to follow.

James, I can't tell you how much I appreciate the opportunity mate. I'll remember it for a long time.

lucky b#stard!!! would have been the best trip ever!

Oooh, I forgot to mention the blonde hitchikers. Actually didn't pick them up and barely avoided the rapidly reversing local built barge stopping for them but,....

Would be the perfect machine for that too, luggage and all.

now where's my finder's fee :nyaanyaa: heehee

lol @ Lunatikk.. nice find

Damn I'm so moving to QLD one of these days and working at Sanctuary Cove ;D

I don't know why J is still here, when he could be on the G/C AND work at the best place ever!!

James it was my pleasure and please call again anytime.

Feel free to use, edit and use, link to, or quote me on any of my comments or pictures as well. With your permission I will offer a more polished version to some magazines for possible publication with due credit and reference to your organisation.

Kaz, thanks for the heads up as well. I really enjoyed trying something different.

BTW, James cannot leave Melbourne. It wouldn't be the same without him, and by that I mean it wouldn't be any better. He is welcome to visit as often as he can.

James, just had a quick Q from a mate. Know anything amusing about this?

Has he heard about the Audi launch at Hamilton Island?

I'm not sure I got the full details...

Audi sent a few cars up there (R8??), and a few journos and interested buyers.

the first run, some guy takes off down the runway flat out...

was a small problem with the brakes (as in, they didn't work) - he left the end of the runway, but went down not up

not sure how true it is!

Thanks again for your help Geoff - great article too!

I'll be sure to call on you again :P

* and no, had not heard about that Audi mishap. Our R8 and the Ford GT are out at QLD Raceway today

Talk soon

J

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
