I have recently imported a 1997 R33 GTST skyline and was wanting to put in a turbo timer myself. I did quite a bit of research and found the one that i wanted which was the HKS type 1 turbo timer. I bought this and the harness and have been installing it today.

The car has a basic immobiliser.

I installed the harness fine and it works showing the battery voltage but because the skyline ECU is located next to the battery in the boot i am stuck trying to install the rpm Brown wire and the blue speed wire because i do not know where the ECU wires go. I have the pinout diagram of the R33 ECU and know what they need to be connected to but the turbo timer wires will not make the distance and i was hoping that they will come out under the dash but i am not sure which ones?

I was wondering if anyone has installed the HSK type 1 turbotimer into their R33 and if they have could they please give me a hand with info on where to connect these wires?

Thanks Heaps!!!

ok first problem here is that the ecu is not in the boot! its behind the passenger kick panel on the lower left of the footwell...

WTF i'm no stupid. When u take down the divider between that compartment it is practically in the boot. All i need to know is where the wires from the ecu go (rmp and speed).

If u havent got anything helpful to post don't post then

geez, he's trying to help you and you bite his head off!

keep looking in the boot then and let us know how you go when you have it installed

Whats it doing back there?? Have you had it moved, cause last time i checked the HICAS steering-ECU sat back there and the ECU on my GTST (which i changed 3-4 times) sits near the passengers feet, behind the panel...

Anyways mine came with one installed, it was all in the harness, just plug and play... Know that since i removed it some months ago.

Hope it'll sort out!

Cheers!

Hi all, I have recently puchased one of these units as well, unfortunately it didn't come with an R33 plug. Lucky for me I have wired up a few things before. My question is, are there any harnesses off the steering column that will allow me to avoid having to wire all the way to my ecu? does anyone have a wiring diagram for the steering column?

Cheers, Dan!

Last time I checked my ECU was at the passenger footwell too!

wrong!

its in the boot because he says so!

PS: good luck wiring your turbotimer to the battery / fuse box etc. should work a treat!

gold.

    • Oh, I forgot too, all the multimedia stuff captured and sold through things like people playing Pokemon Go. Pokemon Go specifically, can actually be traced all the way back to a CIA investment company too. So yep, they're watching everything. Not to mention the new stuff where they've worked out how to use WiFi signals to be able to map occupants inside of a building. That one would be something that I see being more used in public/government buildings, as you need to understand the signals when the room has no one in it first. It's not as easy as Hollywood would like you to think it is.

    • Lets keep this going , Spotted this very stock V35 in Penrith and also saw a nice R32 FLY past me on Castlereagh rd , sounded really good.
    • Great work! Give it a clean up with some Emery paper, and I'd run a thread die over the threads too to clean them up. It will make reinstall much easier, and also life easier for the next time it needs to come out.
    • I'm not a fan of high humidity, it's one reason I don't mind being further inland out Ipswich, except the last 3 odd years, the drought broke, and it won't stop raining, which is making the humidity nearly unbearable when the rains are in during summer! For me, my body hates the cold, once the cold sets into my body, I'm totally screwed. I end up with severe muscle spasm in my back/shoulder muscles, and it feels like someone is trying to tear the muscles out. I have no issues with it getting stupid hot, so long as the humidity goes away. So the last 3 years as above, have been woeful! Ha ha. However, June 1st, and I'm only just converting from shorts and a tee, to long pants and a t shirt. And that's mainly as it's a bit wet and miserable and I wanted to work on a car.
