It seems to happen after ive been driving and the car has been warmed up.

Sitting at idle the noise seems to be coming from maybe the belts and around the turbo side (i dare say..)

Not 100% sure, it doesnt seem to be comming from the actual belts and ive had a 100k service done where the water pump and tensior and timming belts were changed (3000ks ago).

While stationary if i put the clutch in, the noise stops then when off the clutch the noise starts up.

anyone had similar probs or know what could be up?

driving me a little crazy.

cheers

ah k, well searched throw out bearing, couldnt find too much on price to fix, if its easy to fix and is it a major critical thing. (dangerous to drive?)?

its been going on for a couple of weeks. im glad its not the turbo (well.. hopefully its not)

where is this throw out bearing located?? on car and to be purchased?

getting a tune at Creatd this friday so ill word em up about it.

any other ideas?

cheers

gearbox just needs to come out.. try and find who will do that for the cheapest, and no the car isnt dangerous to drive even tho the bearings making noise it'll probly just get louder but youll find if your lacking money atm (chrissy time and all) you could possibly drive with it like that for ages...

Mine's doing it at the moment. Been doing it for about 2 months. I'm getting my clutch replacing on Friday though. They'll replace the bearing then, it's located near your clutch. Not sure where to go to buy the throw-out bearing separately. Maybe ask Slide or Kudos (traders). They sell exedy clutches so they should be able to source a bearing for you.

But yeah, don't stress about it at the moment. It's just annoying, not dangerous.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
