how many times have you been beasten buy a 180 I know I have been done a few times

yer, they're quick with a few mods.. some may debate the interior and exterior as well.. but hmmm..its tempting. The SR20DET motor is one great motor, and like megs was saying 4 cylinder = 4 pistons to replace, 4 injectors to replace, etc.. and even the turbos and parts are generally cheaper for them.

R32 GTS4 or 180sx.. i still can't damn make up my mind!

Which SR20 you putting in it megs? The earlier one, or one off an S14 or S15?

the new plates will b on during the week i think but i dont think i want any plates on the car at mas.....4 obvious reasons

Its the cop cars *outside* the door that you gotta watch out for...

been meaning to reply to this thread. ok, this is chinny's plans (most probably going to go halves in a house with my dad, but if i was going the R34 GT-T route...) :

Bayside Blue R34 GT-T

5spd

Stock as a rock.

As far as i know, there are no Bayside Blue R34 GT-T's in Oz, but that is just from cruise pics, SAU, SDU, stuff like that. So chances are there there might be one floating around, but as far as i know, none here yet. Pretty hard to find.

So yeah, Bayside Blue R34 GT-T,

* Either 18" Bronze TE-37's, R34 GTR Rims, also saw some nice buddy clubs rims.

* Full GTR Kit, compared to number of R33 GTR kits, they are as rare as panda's, and only know that one Green GT-T up for sale last year which had gone down this path.

* GTR Front Bar, GTR rear wing. Not sure if side skirts are different. Not sure if custom front bar can be made to fit without the GTR guards. Will also need to cut the standard bonnet, or fit GTR bonnet.

* Make it a full TRACK car. Kick ass brakes, suspension, and concentrate on making the car really responsive, i know u can get the full boost to around 2800rpm with some mods. Want it to be a full TWISTIES king.

I think the standard R34 GTR guise is the best kit possible. Subtle but mean. Not a very big fan of any of the GT-T kit's i've seen, a lot of them are VERY 2f2f.

Well that's my plan if i got a car. But dream is obviously a R34 GTR, and as soon as i'm outta uni, proper job, i'm gonna find a way to get one. Should be around high $60's mid $70K's by that time.

Never gonna feel like i should be posting on these forums, or going to cruises without actually having a Skyline, and i would LOVE to throw common sense/logic out the window and just get the car and not worry about the house. But i guess i'm starting to realise that i'm in a pretty good position to set myself up for later on in life. But f*ck, i would KILL for a R34 GT-T, and pretty much dream of driving one every night.

cheers.

Tried to get insurance the other morning for a GTR 34, couldnt call famous because of the time difference but did call RACQ and Suncorp... And suprise suprise no offer of insurance...

If I cant get insurance for a decent price I wont even contemplate buying a 34 :D

    • Yeah I've had too many issues with knock off's on the BMW's. I don't want to do a job twice or more because the parts are shit.
    • I read this and thought "ah! I will do this scissor jack on the tow point thing!" I just use my floor/low profile/costco jack and lift the car up by the tow hook itself, then slide jack stands under. Never thought about using scissor into floor jack combo :p
    • Well, my new WMI system took much longer to finalize. I actually missed my dyno appointment last Friday and lost my 150$ deposit. I'll be going back in the next week or two.  To sum it up. I only kept the AEM tank from my old setup. I replaced the AEM pump with a higher flow/pressure ProMeth 30GPH pump. I also swapped over to a 6AN low pressure feed line to the pump from the tank. There's also a pressure switch you cannot see on the pump high pressure line.    This is feeding 6x 200CC direct port nozzles and 1x 500CC Pre Throttle body nozzle. All fittings are Swagelok, because well why not. I also have a 300PSI pressure sensor up front.    I now have my Haltech ECU controlling everything. I start my pump with a basic relay at 5PSI and deadhead it. I then PWM a 3000CC methanol Injector to control flow starting around 10psi. The pressure switch in the trunk, along with my tank level are safeties before I ever get to 10PSI, and then I use my pressure sensor upfront as a secondary safety to cut the WMI and corrections in case the injector blocks or a line ruptures.  Wish me luck on the dyno!
    • So, I'm back with bad news. There's no jack long enough on this planet that will reach the front subframe. If by some chance there is, it would weigh 200lb's.  I purchased a long reach jack... The damn thing weighted 120lb's and was massive. Didn't even come close, was still short at least a foot. It was a pain, but I brought it back. Next I decided HA! No problem, I'll get an Extra long reach jack. Well, I couldn't lift the box... It must have weighed 160LB's and luckily there was an open box in store. I took measurement and was still nowhere close.  Sadly I've lost hope and have accepted defeat.
    • Thanks for that tip, niZmO_Man. I think the battery is OK. It's quite a new one, but I'll check. Last time I needed a new battery, everything electronic was fine, except that there wasn't enough current to turn over the starter. I decided to order one of the partial AV system translation CDs from Car Audio Workshop in NZ. That might have some effect, or help me diagnose the date problem. 🤞
