a while ago my mate put my bov on my R-33 which is a turbosmart vee port.

where you can adjust it to harder or softer he twisted it all the way to the soft setting and past the red mark where it says not to,and i told him that he went to far he reckons it wouldnt do anything???

i have since taken it off cause it was causing stalling but is it ok or would it be damaged?

i heard that if you go past the red point it damages the thread.

The red mark is just there for you to not unscrew the whole bov apart as far as I know. If you keep going with the unscrewing, it'll just take the top part of the bov off and you'll see the bov's spring.

The stalling is likely just because you have a BOV that is venting to atmosphere instead of plumbback. So a search on the forum - been covered many times. Pretty sure it can be fixed by tuning with a piggyback or replacement ecu.

I'm also pretty sure you'll get better performance from the stock one and wont be attracting attention from authorities and from pedestrians who will hear the pshhht and turn around expecting to see some teenager in some fully sick ricer...

well thats good news cause it cost me $400 from repco,just glad it aint money down the drain

yeah ive been thinking of getting the car tuned after christmas,can they tune the factory ecu for the bov?

i live in grafton where there are a few turbo cars getting around...skylines,subaru etc and they all have atmospheric bov and im probably the only guy without one.

As I had responded to your other BOV thread... atmospheric BOVS are a hassle (learnt the hard way as I bought one not too long ago... mate, if you get a Greddy emanage or a Apexi PC or most other ECU's you can get this tuned in... that's if you're willing to buy an after ECU unit and willing to pay $450 for a tune... the easy alternative, just put on a plumb-back BOV or put the stock on back on...nothing wrong with the stock one...

I wouldn't leave this issue for too long as the stalling will increase.
