Hey,

I have been quoted $790 for a billet lightened flywheel (5.5-5.9kg depending on what I want) and a organic clutch plate with a 2600lb pressure plate (I chose 2600 so as not to be too heavy under foot - and apparently this set up is still good for 350hp at the wheels??)....is this a good price?

This is only for supply as I will fit myself. It's from Nick's Clutches/Archerfield.

All comments Appreciated

Steve

HEY!

This is an question that needs to be answered urgently.

I've been told that Nissan patrol clutch bolts up to my skyline by one guy (with 2300lb pressure plate) however another place told me that, that set up means that the plate engages really close to the floor.

Those of you who have this set up is that correct? And if so how different to normal (is it engaged 1 cm off the floor with the rest of the pedal a waste)??

This setup works out to be $320 and is much cheaper than the $430 for the clutch I was quoted, but the the flywheel price jumps to $510 so I may miss out on the flywheel - don't know yet

PLEASE HELP!

I can't say much about the flywheel but I got my clutch from Doug @ Nick's Clutches and it's awesome.

I'm pretty weak and I got a 3000poung pressure plate organic clutch and it's not heavy at all. I love it. It's heavy at first when your not used to it, but I would never go back to anything else.

I do know however not to go to the guy that Doug recommends to put the clutch in. The wanker didn't replace my throw out bearing because I didn't ask. It's like a $2 part and he didn't even bother to ring and ask me. So I now have a nice throw out bearing noise :) (Amongst other noises >:| )

But yes, Nick's clutchs are good. I'm over the moon with my clutch. Not too heavy on the foot and I can still ride it if need be. Great for launches.. Ask anyone who's been in my car =)

Have you spoken to Jay?? I was at Gavin Woods on Friday when he came in to ask about the clutch. Gavin said they can fit but there's a lot of mucking aorund with the pedal height and stuff.

I bought my clutch (as stated about 3000 pound pressure plate, organic clutch) for around the $300 mark. Can't remember the exact price, but it cost all up of $600 to put it in.. But also as I stated above, don't go to the dude at the Caltex up the road on Beaudesert Road. Dodgy. As.

4 Doorz, ring them back and ask to speak to Doug. Say that Erin with the White R33 and the turbo laser told you to ring. See if he will knock some $$ off the price.

I did ring and say someone else sent me there, but its only been about 6 months since I got my new clutch and about 2 since we got the Laser's clutch done.

If he can't remember, just say my clutch was 3000 pound and the laser's clutch was improved from 800 pound to 1860 pound. He should remember that one :D

i just got exedy heavy duty daikien clutch from ABS BRAKE AND CLUTCH in slacks creek. i paid total of $560 (however they usually sell for like $690) ... some places quoted me as much as $980. ABS BRAKE AND CLUTCH helped me out heaps, comes with 12 months warranty. give them try. the guy i chatted to Brent/Brett (cant remember which name it was) beat the cheapest prices i found. so yeah try them..

    • My bad, I unplugged the one underlined in red instead of yellow before. With the car started, after unplugging the IACV (the one underlined in yellow), it idled at around 400/500 for 3 seconds before stalling. Attempting to start the car without the IACV will not start the car.   It does stutter and sputter for around 5 seconds before dying. However, immediately after starting it, you can already hear some slight sputters from the exhaust.   It won't start with the AFM unplugged. If it is when the car has already started, it stalls in a few seconds.   Yesterday, I did take some logs using Nistune of 3 scenarios. Car idling till it stalls Car idling and unplugging the IACV Car idling and removing the AFM I also have some previous logs of when the Car is idling till it stalls and when driving and it cuts. I am not really knowledgeable enough to understand what to look for. After every test, car idles rougher and rougher, until I have to stop. It will be fine the day after.
    • There is no difference between a 17x8 and an 18x8. The total diameter of the tyre needs to remain +/- the same (so you don't mess up the gearing, speedo reading, and clearance when turning front wheels..... so you just need to use a lower profile tyre on th 18 than you do on the 17. /rocket surgery.
    • I thought the same to start with. But then I thought it was one of those LCAs where the end of the ARB goes through a bushing in the LCA itself, instead of having an end link.
    • Yeah - I mean, go the other way. Smaller range. Not larger.
    • To re-cap, I bought: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Lsailt-8G-Infiniti-Q50-Q60-2014_1601171829627.html?spm=a2756.trade-list-buyer.0.0.2cd476e9FTIlKE As you can see, if I bought 20 it was $653, but I bought 1 so it was $1,170. I was very tempted to buy 2 and resell 1 at 25% cheaper. @MBS206, I am not sure if they do a Kluger one, here is their list but it might be there under a global model name: http://www.lsailt.com/product/android-interface?page=1 Keep in mind these full android replacements have basically all the bits a phone does (cpu, ram, storage, wifi, bluetooth, usb interfaces) other than a screen (it uses a host), thus the $800+ cost. Android Auto screen mirroring is MUCH cheaper as it's just a cut down shell, input mirroring and output mirroring BTW I also need that "screen off" feature, it is much harder to see wildlife even if a dash is reasonably dark. Both the Fuga and V37 have display off buttons for night use, they just come back on for a second or 3 if you interact with it, eg skip a song.
