Hi Guys

Since about 2 weeks ago, when i disarm my car with the remote its only doing the alarm system and not unlocking the doors. But if i use the remote to arm/lock then disarm again it will unlock the doors... as it should of, the first time!

Anyone know whats causing this? We did have a fiddle in the drivers door about a month back inclouding the door lock mechanism... but surely that couldnt be the cause as it is locking fine and unlocking fine when i redo it.

Pattern seems to be if i leave the car armed/locked for ages then disarm it wont unlock the doors... but im yet to find a solid pattern to it, its just a guess. Im a bit worried it wont actually lock the doors at some point, so im scared to let it arm after the turbo timer couts down.

Anyone else had this issue or or know what could be the cause?

the actuator in the drvers door needs adjusting. that said if you hav a meter handy check the voltage on the actutaor as well. had one of those with a bad harness a while back.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for that. Are you able to describe what it looks like and how i adjust it? Odd... never really happened until recently.

I can now safely say pattern is if car has been left armed for a while (eg more than a few hours) the initial disarm doesnt unlock the doors. Its happening everyday now.

can you take the door panel off?

if so look along the inside handle linkage - you will see a rod tied to it with a screw clamp- loosen this clamp and work the lock in one direction. make sure the actuator is either fully in or fully out when you tighten the screws again.

for voltage checks - ground one lead of the meter. take a screw driver and close the door catch so the door will close and lock . find the actuator leads and work the door lock via remote. both wires will alternate between 0v & 12v. if both do this then its a mechanical issue. if not run a fresh twin core cable from the alarm to the actuator.

let me know how you go
