I'm sure we all want big brakes, the problem is all the custom work you'd have to do to get them to fit a GTR and then discs and pads.... Someone will buy them eventually

(N1 GTR) No these have never been fitted to a skyline before they are straight off a GT1 car.

(Scooby) There are no part numbers on the AP Racing web site as you can not buy these as they where made for the GT1 sereies cars, but they use the same pads and parts as another ap caliper, a ap 59?? some thing and they where used for one season.

Im selling them as im know getting 8 piston Brembos, i think you might be gettig me confussed with Stu that had a pair of these for sale as well for $1800!

(craked) You can't even compair these calipers to Ksport calipers, New These caliper are over $5000 and I'm not joking.

Yep im keen, just trying to find out how much lines and brakets will cost me aswel as the rims needed to clear them

Ive got 17x9.5 drifteks on the car currently (brembos/alcon's fit under with 355's but these calipers look wider)

Would you please measure these up and let me know dimensions? Ive got some brembos to compare them to, that way i can see if they fit the current wheels :)

PM me if thats ok :P

And "GTR STI" if you are after Carbon Rotors i can get in contact with a guy i know that sells them at the best price ive ever seen, if your interested shoot me a PM :P

Sorry to bother, you have previously sold some GT1 monoblock AP calipers,i am trying to obtain something similar to suit a circuit car.

Would you happen to know of anything around at the moment?

And "GTR STI" if you are after Carbon Rotors i can get in contact with a guy i know that sells them at the best price ive ever seen, if your interested shoot me a PM :D

Hi, Everyone,

I have got AP 6pots/4pots on A GTR34 just arrived from Japan. Keen to get the contacts for carbon ceramic rotors ( AP I guess, they have track tested them for GTR35 400mm )

PM me or call/sms me on 0439 818008

cheers

Alex Mordialloc 3195 Vic.

PS NIGTR How did you go with pricing and fitting the wider Calipers to GTRs

cheers

Please let me know

The fella that could get the carbon ceramic rotors name is Wayne Hill and he work for various race teams in Europe, they where second hand and for memory they where $2k for 330mm carbon rotors.

For new carbon rotors with pads they would cost as much as a second hand R34 GTR if not more no joke, so you may wont to just stick to normal rotors.

For instance new carbon rotors and pads on a R35 GTR V-spec just the fronts alone are $60 odd grand witch is almost unbelievable but true

    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
    • Hi @Chupapy i had several leaks from coolant pipes being corroded, i also had one leak on back of the head onto transmission. For me that leak was from the turbo water line. Follow the line to the back of the head The hose and metal pipe had perished these are the best pics I took of it at the time
