Guest Boxhead

i thought i would help all you guys out for ppl who get a 2 din stereo in the car, want to pull it out and put in a 1 din stereo...

the way to go for a dash insert such as the one illustrated in teh picture, is to go to your local nissan service center, and ask for the tray insert from a z32 300zx... they are the same and fit nicely.. for the r32 anyway, im asuming the r33 also has same set up...

Box,

You have the same stereo as me! heh.. I have the same trouble with the thing that goes around it.. only the top of it clips on, and it occasiaonlly falls off.. but doesnt phase me that much.

hey.. anotehr thing.. whats the point of that cirle part on the LED screen on the right where it displays what station preset your listening to.. is that all it does? or does it move with the music or something?

Seems pointless to me

Guest BlackBeastR33

Hey guys,

My R33 arrived from Japan with a single DIN unit sitting loosely in the dbl DIN space... wired up but not secured to anything.

So I've ordered and received the left & right radio brackets and dash tray, but now I've no idea where to start to install them!!!

How do I remove the trim so I can get inside that space and start screwing in the brackets and screw them to the single DIN unit... what screws on the dash do I need to undo??? Which bits do I need to pull out???

We really need a tech docs section I reckon!!!

Thanks *heaps* guys,

Cheers,

Mark

Blackbeastr33: I just pulled my whole surround off, you need to pull the surround around your gear knob (that plastic shit) and undo the screws underneath it. then the rest of the dash is clip so just pull on it and it will come off by itself  You will need to undo heaps of switch wires that are connected to the whole dash shroud.

Cheers
