airbox is fine

People seem to think that the Apexi filters are the best as they have been shown in an online test to flow the most. Steer clear of oil coated filters which, over time, coat the AFM wires

Cheers.

$188 delivered for 2 (if you have a GTR of course)

Will they fit on a r34 gtr with standard airbox? or do you need a adapter kit?

Um, I think you are missing the point. The pods replace the airbox. Completely. You want the kit first time up. Try here:

http://www.nengun.com/apexi/power-intake-gtr

Or, if you decide to go large on the AFM's:

Can I suggest you go back to talk to Danny at Imports101 about your mods. My car was there when your 34 was about (It is a white R32)

Yeah i know the pods replace the air box, What i meant was for $188 does the pods come with a adapter kit to fit a r34 gtr. I didn't get my car from imports 101 I bought it from sydney. I was just reading about nengun and people where saying they take along time to deliver. thanks for the info mate.

+ 1.

I got my R34 GTR from Imports 101 and Danny has helped me choose appropriate mods, supplied those I could not get myself and fitted the lot. The tuning was done through Imports 101 at Top Racing (a great job). The body kit was fitted by Imports 101, who arranged the painting by Regency Panel Shop - who also did a great job.

Net result is a well sorted car and one happy customer!

Cheers. :O

Thanks guys... Im taking it to get tuned this friday. what is the best pod filter to use i've looked at greddy, k&n and apexi power intake. Im not sure whats better, whats everyone else using?

I use greddy pod filter, but im changing them a greddy suction kit. They seem pretty good, im happy with it

Um, yeah sorry. I got the other Bayside Blue Gt-R mixed up with yours (So common...).

Nengun take their time, I would suggest greenline instead. I just used the Nengun links because they took you straight to the parts.

The kit with adaptors is about $350. The pod filters you buy without the kit are simply replacement filters. They are insufficient to do the whole job.

Sorry - I got hold of the wrong end of the stick, too.

djr81 - that was probably my car you saw in Imports 101. I was having a bit of work done and it was there a couple of times in the last two to three weeks.

Confusion all around!

As for Nengun, people complain about them and about Greenline from time to time (there are quite a few threads around). They always seem to forget that things get pretty hectic with more orders and less work time around Christmas and New Year. Also, these companies are at the mercy of their suppliers. For example, you won't get a Trust oil cooler kit for an R34 GTR from almost anywhere until the end of Feb, because they are on back order with Trust. There may be one or two on the shelves around the place, but not many. I have always had excellent service and response from these guys.

Cheers. :P

Hey I finally got my power fc and im getting my car tuned tomorrow at hyper Drive. Has anyone had there car tuned there since ken and lumpy left?

I think should just take it to All Star Garage since u heading down there. You also can take it to Top Racing to do minor mods tune should be safe :)

All star garage i've never heard of them. Are they good? who works there? I already got a tune at hyperdrive but he only manage to get 280 rwhp from my car. Has all star got a dyno?

    • would a r34 gtr hood line up with gt/gtt stock fenders? after latch, front bumper and hinges are swapped for gtr ones? or would the fenders be too low or high in relation to the hood surface? ( I believe seeing somewhere that gtr front fenders use some type of riser for the sides, but do not know how that relates to stock gt/gtt fenders.)
    • You just need to remove the compressor housing, not the entire turbo. I would not be drilling and tapping anything with the housing still on anyways.
    • So, I put my boat on a boat. First of all, I'm going to come out and say it. Why is Tasmania not considered a holy goal, an apex that all road-legal modified cars go to, to experience? This place is an absolute wonderland of titanic proportions. If people are already getting club runs for once in a lifetime 30 person cruises to Tassy then I've never seemed to see it. It is like someone replaced the entire place with an idyllic wonderland for cars, and all of the people living there with paid actors who are kind, humble, and friendly. Dear god. After doing a lap of almost all of the place I've found that it's a great way to find out all of the little things that the car isn't doing quite right and a great way to figure it all out. All in all, I drove for 4 hours a day for a week and nothing broke. I didn't even need to open the engine bay. This is by all means a great success, but it has left me with a list of things to potentially address. I also now have a 3D printed wheel fitment tool which annoyingly hasn't got any threads in it to actually assemble it. I might be able to tape it together to check the sizing I actually want to use, but it'll likely involving pulling the shocks out to properly measure travel at least at the front, and probably raise the car while I'm at it, at least in the rear. I scraped on quite a few things and I'm not sure how else to go about it. I was taking anything with a bump at what felt like 89 degree angles. And address those 10 other tasks. And wash the car. God damn it is dirty. And somehow, the weather was perfect the entire time - And because I was on the top of Mt Wellington it turns out it was very much about to freeze up there. I did something I typically never do and took some photos up there in what must have been -10 and the foggy felt like suspended ice, rather than mere fog. If you own a car in Australia, you owe it to yourself to do it.
    • Damn that was hilarious, and a bit embarrassing for skylines in general 😂 vintage car life ey. That R33 really stomped. Pretty entertaining stuff
    • Hi, I have a r32 gtr transmission. Does any of you guys have an idea how much power it will hold with the billet center plate and stock gearset? At what power level and use did yours brake with or without billet plate? Thanks, Oystein Lovik
