ACTUALLY you CANNOT drive a uncomplied fresh off the boat car around LEGALLY. I have already asked the question to QT when I went for my trade plate. once it is complied then yes - providing you have the insurance and day pass done for it.

just to clarify the above point.

I don't think he's talking about a FOB car Chris, but one that's just got compliance plates from the RAWS.

Depends on your state. In NSW you are allowed to drive an unregistered car specifically for the purposes of acquiring registration (eg to get a blue slip, to a weighbridge, to the RTA, etc). Has to be via the most direct route and you should keep paperwork with you at all times in case you get pulled over.

Even with an unregistered vehicle permit, it's only supposed to be used for registration purposes or transporting the vehicle, i.e., you're not SUPPOSED to use it to get groceries at safeway or anything like that, just for getting a roadworthy, going to your Dept. of Motor Vehicles, etc.

    • Even more fun, leave all the ADAS stuff plugged in, but in different locations, hopefully avoid any codes!   And honestly, all these new cars with their weird electronics. Pull all the electronics out Duncan, and just shove an aftermarket ECU and if needed a trans controller in, along with a PDM. Make it run basic but race car styled!
    • To follow up a question from earlier too since I had the front bar off again (fking!) This is what is between the bumper and the drivers side wheel And this is the navigator side, only one thing but its a biggy! So basically....no putting coolers in the wheel arches without a lot of moving other stuff. Assuming I move to properly race prepping this car I'll take that job on and see how the computers respond to removing a whole bunch of ADAS modules
