After having my motor rebuilt last August and doing less than 1000kms on it, when all of a sudden i had no oil pressure finally me and my mechanic removed the motor from my car removed the sump and it just started picking up on the bearing so probably the best news i could have heard, so replacing the bearings and putting in an N1 oil pump and Jun Crank collar which i purchased late last year.

I have done the Oil restrictor mod aswell, but havent done the sump baffle or Head to sump return mod.

Im in 2 minds about doing them i have read up alot on it i was looking at the tomei sump baffle but was told the Jun Sump baffle is better, I sent off my crank and collar to get machined today and i want the car back on the road asap i have never been on the track before and the car is prodomently a street car, but wouldnt mind starting to get into it abit more.

If you were in my position would you baffle it or just fill it up and extra 1.5L or so on the occasional track day i go on?

My Mods are:

r32 GTR

CP forged pistons (40 though)

prepped standard Rods

ARP Stud bolts

n1 oil pump

Jun Crank Collar

Tomei Restrictor Mod

Bosch 044 fuel pump

r33 GTR N1 Turbos

a bit or head work

torque split controller

When i put it back together my friend is going to live tune it for me just untill i organise the power fc and injectors.

Is there anything else i should do while the motor is out?

For the 10 minutes it takes to change I would put a sump baffle kit in, and still over fill it for the track.

Oil return is a good idea but it does take a bit more work to ensure it all fits close and doesn't foul when the donk goes back. If you are in a hurry to get it back on the road pass.

Well if you want it cheap you order from japan and wait, or if you want it tommorrow you'll have to pay more and buy through an aussie shop that has them in stock (justjap powerplay UAS etc)

or access in mulgrave have them in stock as well as full modified sumps

ask for steve top bloke and im surehe will get you headed in the right direction.

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful         
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
