Nismodified
a GTR would crap all over a GTS on the street. But GTR's arent designed purely for the straight line either, lets see how far the gap becomes when its starts to get twistier Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/20574-gtr-vs-holden-gts/page/2/#findComment-431586 Share on other sites
Maxx
in real world, most holden GTS were stock standard, MOST skyline were modded. Not to mention a GTR, holden GTS will find a hard time to beat a skyline GTS-T!:bahaha: Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/20574-gtr-vs-holden-gts/page/2/#findComment-431604 Share on other sites

EnricoPalazzo
THe vette does a 10sec quater. Also i think the C5 weighs alot less then the GTS. Anyone clarify this? ex_zero
i think the C5 weighs in at 1497kg from HPI no.32, which coincidentally is in my hands.... isn't a R33 GTS-T around 1300kg? or is that a R32 GTS-T i'm thinking about....... well an R33 GT-R is 1560kg..... so, not much in it..... up the boost a bit, and they'll both be head to head..... C5 vs R33 GT-R that is..... a holden GTS, weighs in more than 1700kg(?? correct me if i'm wrong, most V8's are more than 1600kg right?) btw, how much are most of those kits for the LS1 cost? wow, warranty with the 550hp kit, hehehe, if only that could happen with installed hardware on a jap car Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/20574-gtr-vs-holden-gts/page/2/#findComment-431997 Share on other sites

summoner
mates stock VX GTS ran a 13.2 @ 108mph.. with tweaks it would be up there witha gt-r.. especially on a rolling run Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/20574-gtr-vs-holden-gts/page/2/#findComment-432269 Share on other sites
ex_zero
is that with street tyres? i dunno about reading ET's and trap speeds yet, but, isn't that trap speed a bit slow for a 13.2? suggesting it had a good launch? summoner
on street tyres.. and its a quick trap speed for that. i've seen similair traps run into the 12's Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/20574-gtr-vs-holden-gts/page/2/#findComment-432317 Share on other sites
ex_zero
mmmm, ok, well i'm kinda at the infant stages of reading trap speeds..... so wat would be a good trap speed with a mid 12 pass? predator
I killed an old guy (50's?) in a yellow GTS once but there was a bit of traffic so couldn't go for long.. I think he was trying to say "i'll show these punk kids with their jap crap".. I was in front in a few metres. He wasn't happy. Hopefully i made him revert in his midlife crisis Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/20574-gtr-vs-holden-gts/page/2/#findComment-432344 Share on other sites
Jay95R33
Pred - hehehe, I love your work... I remember one bloke in an old beaten up EH go past me (turning right at the lights) while I was stopped and yelled out "jap crap" out his window. Then his car backfired, almost stalled, and just made it across the lights before they turned red. I was like WTF???? LOL Anyway, that's waaayyyyyy off topic... Guest superted
Haha Merli and broken are funny! Stupid tread! A Skyline GTR would beat any holden! Any one of these cars here would waste any holden! Like i dont even think it would even beat the purple one! Haha And NO CHANCE against the white R33-GTR N1.... I was a very one-eyed Skyline nut when I owned an R32. After a while, the novelty wore off. I saw the light and traded it for a WRX (Just kidding:D ). I came to appreciate all cars for what they are. I still like the skylines, but now realise that they certainly aren't the be-all and end-all of motoring. whether it has a rotor, V8, I6, I4, Boxer or whatever, I really don't care too much. as long as it's quick, and fun to drive. It's fun giving stick to a V8 on a race track, (proper one with corners and all), just as it's fun giving stick to turbo Skylines. By the same token, when a 450hp at the wheels GTR beats my times (in the dry at least), I can appreciate the performance of these things. I'd like to line up a standard GTR tho - I think it'd be a close race. I digress. As Soulja said, nothing makes a forum more boring than the brand slagging that some members engage in. The purple one does 0-100Km on a normal street in about 4.5 secs and this was when it didn't have the huge exhaust and the other mods! i wonder what it can do now?
