I've got a blitz dual SBC spec S. Low is 0.6bar and high is 0.8bar, been tuned by one of the best in the business (imho) and I havent had any detonation or pinging, but its also a lot colder than summer, so I'll be reverting to 0.6bar (I think stock is 0.5bar anyway) when summer rolls around and when I can afford it I'll pop in a front mount i/c

Nope, I'm tired of people argueing about who the best tuning shops are and who are crap and use sub standard methods, plus I dont like naming names as a couple of years ago I almost got taken to court for a post on hotcopper.com about the company I was working for. My suggestion is look at what projects they have built or had a hand in.

Not that it matters to me cos I have my own favourites , but you can't get into trouble for recommending someone, only if you bag them without just cause.

IMHO I'm sure the tuner would be happy for the free plug as most times all you hear is how bad someone is, not how happy you are.

:)

also might add to the list of places to try

i've been to;

psi

cypher

formaz

and xspeed

have heard of

barry's automotive

performance turbos

west racing

and a couple others i can't remember

in the end it comes down your personal experience at a place. a name want hurt.

ps for your 1/4 time on those boost levels low to mid 14sec passes with your mods

Count me in, so long as its fine and cold. Just had a boost controller put in and I want to improve on my 14.82 I set last-time (completely stock, cept for a 3.25" cat back system). I'm hoping for a very low 14 or high 13 with the extra boost.

Rob

Hmm I can't see you getting 13s with cat back and a bit of boost.

My first run was 14.5 - that was with just cat-back and pod filter.

now i have full turbo back exhaust with hi flow cat and 10psi (.7bar)

I am still not sure if i will hit 13s or not....... probably depend on the conditions ie how slippery the track is and how cool the air is.

    • @Supernanoyour car has ended up in my hands and I was wondering if there has been any work done to the motor?
    • Sigh... yeah OEM mount rear battery, very R33, very demure, very mindful.
    • Would need a substantial current draw in the car to make a bunch of sparks. Obvs to now test resistance to ground of the car's B+ lead. If there's a short there, you'll see it. Only likely place for that, as you suspect is alternator. But there is also the possibility that rats have had a chew on some insulation. Shitbox has the battery in the boot, yeah? Plenty of cable to attack.
