hybrid cores are good as long as you dont expect them to flow any more than 260-290rwkw in some of the earlier designs even lower. Other than that they are good value for money.

So my bar and plate front mount intercooler which is quite small but apparently is optimum up to 580hp, is it that good? and will it handle the 260rwkw that I am after?

Here is the link...

I paid no where near that price but it is that exact kit.

I paid $1400 fitted.

Hybrid also make complete kits for everything from S13 Silvia's to WRX and every skyline inbetween... worth a look anyway...

They have three inch polished piping and silcon hoses... and stainless clamps... what more does a man need...

I like the fact that you don't have to spend big bucks on making piping... I originally made all the piping for my stock silvia intercooler... ( i turboed my non-turbo therefore had no pipework) and I made it all from stainless piping and Norosco hosing... It wasn't a huge job but in the end it still cost me a couple of hundred dollars... for a good front mount it would be worth buying the kit to save yourself the trouble...

I'm buying mine through Squizz... he seems to be getting good prices at the moment... contact him for the whole range of kits at decent prices...

bar and plates flow really high numbers and have very small pressure drops. There down fall is once they get hot due to the amont of metal that needs to b cooled, and they restrict air flow to the radiator severly compared with a tube and fin. I think they are good, im getting a 125mm thick bar plate at the moment for my GTR.

Not true dude they have a higher pressure drop than a tube and fin core however will get a lower temperature to the inlet manifold. Ya gotta weigh it up... less cooling but good low pressure drop = largest tube and fin core you can fit on your car without to mugh restriction of radiator etc. Lowest temperature possible but with a slightly higher pressure drop on a smaller size core = bar and plate cooler. You have to work out what you are after as to what you fit to your set up. I run a custom AVO bar and plate race core, measures 600*250*90 which is more than enough for around 650hp, and is a damn good cooler... cast tanks etc.

The hybrid cooler is a very good upgrade over the stock cooler value for money comapred to more serious coolers from large companies for those who will want the extra bit out of it and who are willing to pay for it. But i have seen heaps of Hyrbid cores on heaps of cars and they seem to do very well.

    • Yep, the closest base tune available was for the GTT, I went with that and made all the logical changes I could find to convert it to Naturally Aspirated. It will rev fine in Neutral to redline but it will be cutting nearly 50% fuel the whole way.  If I let it tune the fuel map to start with that much less fuel it wont run right and has a hard time applying corrections.  These 50% cuts are with a fuel map already about half of what the GTT tune had.  I was having a whole lot of bogging when applying any throttle but seem to have fixed that for no load situations with very aggressive transient throttle settings. I made the corrections to my injectors with data I found for them online, FBCJC100 flowing 306cc.  I'll have to look to see if I can find the Cam section. I have the Bosch 4.9 from Haltech. My manifold pressure when watching it live is always in -5.9 psi/inHg
    • Hi My Tokico BM50 Brake master cylinder has a leak from the hole between the two outlets (M10x1) for brake pipes, I have attached a photo. Can anyone tell me what that hole is and what has failed to allow brake fluid to escape from it, I have looked on line and asked questions on UK forums but can not find the answer, if anyone can enlighten me I would be most grateful.
    • It will be a software setting. I don't believe many on here ever used AEM. And they're now a discontinued product, that's really hard to find any easy answers on. If it were Link or Haltech, someone would be able to just send you a ECU file though.
    • Yes sir am asking is there possible way from aem tuner from wiring pins
    • Have you checked cam to crank timing and confirmed balancer marks are correct?
