Hey guys I'm new to the forums, just recently got myself a 1990 32 gts-t type m which already has a full exaust, cooler, filter, bov.

Previous owner had the car dyno'd without all them mods and got 159 at the wheels, and said that he estimates it at around 170-180 now.

Since having the car for around 2 months now I feel like I want more power, but I'm still very new to the whole car scene and wouldn't know where to start.

So I just wanted to ask all you skyline guru's what would be the most effective, resonably priced and reliable mods to get to reach my goal of 200 at the wheels?

Also what kind of money am I looking at spending?

Thanks in advance.

well i guess it depends on how much you willing to spend.

id say its 159rwkw with the pod and zorst, dont worry about the bov thats just toss-factor.

id say suspension first.always makes a huge difference in the car.

Yeah thats the thing, I wouldn't know whats a good budget to work with.

With suspension I was looking at a set of Tien HA's, there are always a set or two floating around eBay resonably priced, will they do the job?

POD, Electronic boost controller (best option), SAFC, FMIC to make it safe, Full exhaust from turbo, fuel pump, regapping plugs to 0.8mm

200 rwkw there u go

Suspension was second thing I did .. I like tight cornering and wanted control.. a sway bar is also a ++++ makes massive difference

i got king springs and Koni shocks, nothing too fancy. Also while your there, change all the bushes.

i've gone the rb25turbo($400) like alot of people on here,i think std the best you'll get is about 180rwkw before you highflow($800-$2000) it then will net your 200rwkw mark.

Or get a new turbo from garret or hks or whatever.$$$$

Theres a group buy on here for all suspension components aswell, check it out.

Depending on budjet, i;d be saying get a boost controller whether it a manual stage 1 bleed valve of an EBC (electronic boost controller) this will up the boost, as you already have pod, exaust, FMIC? this should be getting closer!!

RB25DET conversion??

the sort of money you are looking to spend for all the other mods might be comparative to this option. 25% more donk! of course this isnt easy, but neither is fitting fmics... my R33 just cost $1300 for the privilege.

just got it back. should be good for 240rwkw with a final tune!

happy modifying.

True sorry missed the Rb20 comment..

Add the following

Oil cooler, Power FC, and Highflow Turbo running 20psi lol

Oh .. and fuel reg

Haha gettin' closer now! :P But yeah all the above mods will get you the power you're after for now, until you get bored and slap on a dirty garrett and some injectors :D

There probably is a thousand threads, but like most people you can't find exactly what your after so I made a new thread.

Well good sir, now you see why there are 1000 threads like this :P

Because...

1. You dont know what you want.

2. You dont have a budget.

3. Have not provided use/aims for the money spent

These types of threads always go down the same line, without filling in the 3 blank points above... people can offer solutions till the cows come home, however if you want suggestions that are actually useful, then you must be far more specific.

Oh, and for the record, you wont have 170-180rwkw on a stock turbo'd RB20, its reading a GOOD 20-30rwkw higher than it really should as the RB20 turbo is a tiny tot.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
