I thought it was my turn to have a rant, so here is the story...

Tonight went for a cruise with my mate up norton summit into lobethal, then back down the gorge, at Kangaroo creek we stop and have a break as im feeling abit tired. Then after awhile a cooner spec VN full of feral skin heads pulls in and starts yelling and harrassing the F*** out of us, so we just boost it out of there only to be followed, but it only took a few corners to loose them.

About an 30-40 minutes later we are getting food at HJ's only to have a junker VL and a VS both full of yobbo's come and start circling around my car so I couldnt drive off, one of them just narrowly missing my car :woot: ... So we just sat in the car looking like we didnt give a shit until the got bored and buggered off.

I just realised now I should of written down their plates and reported them :D

I dont have a problem with commodore drivers in general my brother and one of my best mates drive them and they dont act like yobbos.

Do things like this happen to other skyline drivers or am I just unlucky at attracting these random commodore knob jockeys??

yeh its happened to me a few times... on the way home from work once i got a commodore sitting right up my arse, when i look back into my rear vision mirror i cant see his bonnet thats how close the C*** was, so wat do u do? its farken peak hour so boost'n off into the sun set aint an option... i turn off into mawson lakes, this fag follows me and is hangin out the window yelling at me to pull over.... id pull over and have a crack at him if he didnt look 3 times the size of me. eventually loose him tho as i know mawson lakes pretty good.

a few times i get randoms asking my dumb questions.... like "omg a skyline how much boost are you running??????" and "does it boost hard?????" thaey are my personal favourites.

you always get flamin mongrels like that.. the other day a vr pulled into the car park next to me and my mate.. his music was blazing, we both have 32's so we started up our engines and he shut up.. u gotta set em in line.... just show em whos boss like mentioned earlier dude, else if they threatening, just ignore them... they will eventually get bored... best of luck mate.

I also get it in my daily young commy drivers cutting in frount of me and driving right up my ars. So i slow down to 50kph just to piss them of and when they go to over take i speed up lol then at the lights i just give them a big smile lol

just watch out tho most think they are 50cent or eminem lol

A funny part I forgot my mate was saying after we left one of the guys in the VS was asking his mate in the car "is that thing really have a turbo" :D

I thought having RS-TURBO on the side of the car would be a big enough indication? :D

I guess the only answer is to take them on.... and give them shit for losing to a 2 litre 4 cylinder :woot:

+1 for all the above comments yes there may be some good commys out there but im so sick of them getting up ur ass and wanting to drag u if i had a dollar for every time that happened

no shit, if you had a $1 for every time that happens you would be a millionaire!!

my best mate and his mates all have nice supercharged or v8 spec commy's but i have been cruising with them a couple of times and even they hate elizabethian spec commy's.....but yes i have had plenty of these...i also seen to attract small turbo cars trying to give me a run....but yes if i had a $1 for everytime a commy or ford driver wanted to give me a run i would have a freaking 34 NUR GTR by now

what's going on? they're still spewing over bathurst! they're just jealous because they can't put fully sick nismo stickers on their cars!

but i've had my share of these situations! mainly because my car is rice

Unless they start getting serious n start calling me shit i usually wont do anything. Racing people like that isn't even worth it at all. Im still waiting for the chance to do a keybanger into someones window one day with the corolla. It'll either get them really mad or shut em up. Im curious to see.

ive had a couple of bogans yell stuff after giving em a beating, i usually cant make it out between the bogan slur and my exhaust note so i dont really bother me. usually just laugh at em :)

my bro's gets way worse with his swift turbo, he usually gets the finger. but its funny as hell when he beats the v8s and they seriously get on the verge of crying. we got some of them on film :P

i reckon i prob got more abuse in my dato though back in the day, i reffered to it as fastest bucket of sh*t in town complete with peeling vynle roof. i beat a vs once and there was a lil swerving at me and slamming on the brakes in front of me that followed was quite shocked by it

but when these people do this crap it also confirms they were trying there hardest to win and still got whipped :laughing-smiley-014:

i was travelling around 20kmph and just came out of a petrol station and next thing i new a vl was up my arse..

so he puts on his blinker to overtake and as hes next to me pushing its guts i put my foot down a little, reachin 60 in no time, only for him to swerve back behind me to avoid a truck, he then swerved in front, tried to side swipe me, then pulled in front of me, slammed on his brakes, then went back behind hit my rear bumper, and i had to boost. Not a cool experience, My wallet hated him, so did my rear bumper.. Jerks.

Sorry to say but you asked for that. Accellerating while someone is next to you is just stupid, no matter how nice or crap their car is. The fact he had to swerve back in to avoid a head on collision is just stupid on your behalf, what were you trying to prove? Of course going to enrage someone doing that!

I hope you learned your lesson not to put yourself and others in a dangerous situation like that even if they are being idiots, last thing we need is another news story saying "skyline was racing a commodore when the commodore driver was forced to collide head on with oncoming traffic"

/rant

hah the only sort of 'commodore bogans' I get are the ones trying to get my attention, usually just turn the music up and pretend i cant hear them. The ones that try drag me off at the lights are the best.. i rev the engine a little to make em think im gonna take em on then as they floor it i just cruise off slowly. They will get caught one day..

    • Well GTSBoy, prepare yourself further. I did a track day with 1/2 a day prep on Friday, inpromptu. The good news is that I got home, and didn't drive the car into a wall. Everything seemed mostly okay. The car was even a little faster than it was last time. I also got to get some good datalog data too. I also noticed a tiny bit of knock which was (luckily?) recorded. All I know is the knock sensors got recalibrated.... and are notorious for false knock. So I don't know if they are too sensitive, not sensitive enough... or some other third option. But I reduced timing anyway. It wasn't every pull through the session either. Think along the lines of -1 degree of timing for say, three instances while at the top of 4th in a 20 minute all-hot-lap session. Unfortunately at the end of session 2... I noticed a little oil. I borrowed some jack stands and a jack and took a look under there, but as is often the case, messing around with it kinda half cleaned it up, it was not conclusive where it was coming from. I decided to give it another go and see how it was. The amount of oil was maybe one/two small drops. I did another 20 minute session and car went well, and I was just starting to get into it and not be terrified of driving on track. I pulled over and checked in the pits and saw this: This is where I called it, packed up and went home as I live ~20 min from the track with a VERY VERY CLOSE EYE on Oil Pressure on the way home. The volume wasn't much but you never know. I checked it today when I had my own space/tools/time to find out what was going on, wanted to clean it up, run the car and see if any of the fittings from around the oil filter were causing it. I have like.. 5 fittings there, so I suspected one was (hopefully?) the culprit. It became immediately apparent as soon as I looked around more closely. 795d266d-a034-4b8c-89c9-d83860f5d00a.mp4       This is the R34 GTT oil sender connected via an adapter to an oil cooler block I have installed which runs AN lines to my cooler (and back). There's also an oil temp sensor on top.  Just after that video, I attempted to unthread the sensor to see if it's loose/worn and it disintegrated in my hand. So yes. I am glad I noticed that oil because it would appear that complete and utter catastrophic engine failure was about 1 second of engine runtime away. I did try to drill the fitting out, and only succeeded in drilling the middle hole much larger and now there's a... smooth hole in there with what looks like a damn sleeve still incredibly tight in there. Not really sure how to proceed from here. My options: 1) Find someone who can remove the stuck fitting, and use a steel adapter so it won't fatigue? (Female BSPT for the R34 sender to 1/8NPT male - HARD to find). IF it isn't possible to remove - Buy a new block ($320) and have someone tap a new 1/8NPT in the top of it ($????) and hope the steel adapter works better. 2) Buy a new block and give up on the OEM pressure sender for the dash entirely, and use the supplied 1/8 NPT for the oil temp sender. Having the oil pressure read 0 in the dash with the warning lamp will give me a lot of anxiety driving around. I do have the actual GM sensor/sender working, but it needs OBD2 as a gauge. If I'm datalogging I don't actually have a readout of what the gauge is currently displaying. 3) Other? Find a new location for the OEM sender? Though I don't know of anywhere that will work. I also don't know if a steel adapter is actually functionally smart here. It's clearly leveraged itself through vibration of the motor and snapped in half. This doesn't seem like a setup a smart person would replicate given the weight of the OEM sender. Still pretty happy being lucky for once and seeing this at the absolute last moment before bye bye motor in a big way, even if an adapter is apparently 6 weeks+ delivery and I have no way to free the current stuck/potentially destroyed threads in the current oil block.
    • Literally looks like direct port nitrous haha
    • They are in fact just nozzles. They are there only to produce a spray pattern and limit flow. The injector itself is what I use to control flow to the 7x nozzles. My old system had no injector and only PWM the pump. This lead to a lot of inconsistencies, and poor atomization at low pressure when the pump was ramping up.
