hmmm.. i think its reasonable with going on what is available in Melbourne, and the prices considering imports have slowed to a trickle presently.

As long as its A1 condition throughout and you have a bit of a history for it (is it private sale or other?), I think it would be worth it.. At best I'd say you'd find a good n/a is for $12k. Don't forget P-platers in Melb aren't allowed to drive the turbo versions legally (and they're starting to crack down on it), so there is still a demand for n/a's on their own.

If any of you can point him towards an actual one for sale in Melb which is heaps lower than that price and forsale this second then i'm sure he'd be happy to hear. What is the sound of silence? ;)

I paid a few grand more for my GTS-T than the going rate to get a good one a while back - never been worried about that decision... its saved me money

so? i just had a quick look at carpoint and the trading post sites then - what u'd look for if u lived in melb and looking for cars.. not too much R33 GTS under 14k at the moment..sure maybe $13k but like i said, not hundreds of them forsale atm.

Each state is different in terms of prices for each type and things like that. If he wants it cheap as possible, do the import thing, he'll get it for maybe 10k - but not everybody can do that for misc reasons.

Looking for a car shouldn't be a one week thing. It takes time to find a great car at a great price.

And btw, even though I'm in Adelaide, I was looking to buy my car in Melb. coz at the time there were better deals there than here in Adel. Wasn't too much difference in price between states, melb was slightly cheaper, coz theres more skylines there than here.

YEAh atm i cant find any r33 n/a for less than $14000. i have been looking for a long time now and it seems to my disbeilf that N/A have gone up in price in melbourne. I dont want a turbo for a number of reasons. I also spoke to a company callend STRIKE PERFORMANCE in melbourne that is looking for a n/a already in melbounre and complied for around 12g-14g he said.

The car pitured at the my first tread is still in japan, but yeah i think it is a bit to much for a n/a.

But if anyone is selling one in melbourne plz let me know.

thanks for all the feedback too.

cheers..

    • Did you pay with a credit card? I'd be putting a charge back through then finding a new sparky to sort it out.
    • If you mean the alarm immobiliser; theyre internal to the alarm itself which makes that difficult; I couldnt even see where he put it; its not in the same place as last time; but with all black wiring it might be very challenging to trace  I had someone turn the key for me as I know it only primes for a couple of seconds As my post above; I am getting no voltage to the pump at all; but I am testing continuity of the power line (SB) from the pump plug to the relay fine. As well as the negative from the pump plug to a 12V constant.    Yeah; he blammed the no start on a bad battery; said I needed to get a new battery and it'll start. Turns out the battery drained because the tail lights had been on for half the day during the install (the rubber cushion on the brake switch gave out while he was testing it as I have a picture of the car from that morning with the tail lights off..i've replaced that). The battery was turning over the engine just fine for a long time; but got low since lights were draining it so it was too low to test a start after he finished. I bought a new one on his advice...$250 wasted. My original battery charged up just fine and is healthy.    It was running perfectly fine when I messed up the old alarm (programmed out the remotes). He couldnt start it after removing the old alarm; my assumption is that when he unhooked it; he didnt bridge the circuit back when trying to start it. Its always been perfectly fine. The ECU swap and pump were 2 years ago. It's never missed a beat in that time.
    • This is a big issue for me without the diff. I just have zero drive from the passenger side when drivers side has no traction. Bec's parents place has a crazy steep driveway with odd camber and I have never been able to get up. My bro-in-law's 130i with an (unknown brand) LSD gets up fine as does their dad's Hiace. My car stays at the bottom. We have other odd camber roads around here as we're elevated a bit and if it's raining I can get totally stuck around some hairpins.
    • Yeah, I am super excited for this.
    • Was the car running before he touched the car?
