$500 on a remap sounds a bit steep. especially when you're only getting to use it on the setup you go in with, then you've got to spend the $500 again.

ive gone a different route - ive got a mines retuned ECU and an emanage ultimate to back that one up.

i'm currently a part of a group of people that are trialing the 'beta' stage of some new tuning software that will help DIY tuners with PFC/emanage/motec etc. tune their own cars. i've personally seen GREAT results but there are some bugs to be fixed before this software goes into production - thing is you dont have that type of option/support for a remap.

remaps are great, dont get me wrong but you're limited to things like running map sensors, launch control, ign/inj temp adjustment, knock sensor adjustment etc etc etc. for $500 a pop i think you could do better than a remap.

Didnt cost me 500. Cost me 400 all up. He spent more than 5 hours on the car to get it right. I even came back the next day.

From memory a total of 7 plus hours all up. . Didn't ask for a cent more.

Also its a lot cheaper than power fc

Who wants to spent 1.5 - 2k on a tune including powerfc to gain the same results.

The reason why i did a remap was because there was no need for me to go bigger turbo. I wasn't going to spend anymore money on the car.

Now you can always go bigger turbo, fuel pump etc and he will tune it for you... Same cost!!

Hope this helps change your view on remap.

But you are right, not for everyone. But it was for me and that's all it matters :)

Im very happy with my results. Even been proven on the track at Wakefield!!

Gdluck with your trail testings as well!! Hope it works out :P

finally got around to getting my new motor tuned! (25 in a R32) and i'm very pleased with the results.. Got my rb20 tuned by him about 8 months ago so was an easy decision to go back :D

The AFM maxed out at 5.1v at about 6500rpm so i'm hoping for around 200rwkw

i agree. i dont want to go any further with my car hence the remap. besides 200wkw + is plenty power for the street. spend a bit more on suspension and handling mods and you've got one quick, reliable, cheap mod list and cheaper fuel costing skyline.

All depends on what you want and how much money you got. I am more than happy with 200rwkw as I use mine as a daily driver and I would be lucky to get past 3.5k rpms! Serious racers on track or drag will obviously opt for the more expensive path as you get what you pay for and every kw counts, not to mention you would not want to blow up your engine due to cheap parts.

200kw is fun for around 20mins. it just starts to feel really bland.

i was aiming for 200kw. made it. now im aiming for 300... then probably 400 lol.

just make sure your gear suits your goals. remap is perfect to use with an emanage/fcon etc etc later on i guess.

My point was more that should anything change/go wrong, with a Nistune/PowerFC/Emanage etc, once in you just pay for dyno time to tune. And at the same price as a remap, plus multiple tuners around, I couldn't go past Nistune.

let me know when you lose your license though dude. cant possibly utilize all 300kw responsibly on the street lol.

especially at 400kw for street only ;) (which is all ill be using it for) there is no way you can use all 400kw safely on the streets not only risking loss of license but also playing with other people's lives on the road. if you track your car then its a different story. i see that you do. looks crazy :( i only intend to street mine. and for the street. its more than enough.

but also for me extra money otherwise spent on a pfc or other $$$ mods alike the funds have just gone into an apartment. the Ruddman's been generous, the reserve bank's being generous...why not i say. give this kid a Toshi remap.

300kw is exactly like 200kw on the street - you cant use it anywhere responsibly.

im not being anti-remap. just saying you guys should keep your options open because i havent heard any skyline owner ever say 'i will not mod my car anymore'.

This is so true, but I guess it all depends on the person and their goals, ambitions, money situation, yaddah yaddah *yawn* ok back to the "for sale" section for me.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
