I have recently picked up my new whale and would like different wheels for it.

the wheels are on the skyline as can be seen.

no marks.

tyres have plenty of tread.

the fronts are 235's and the rears are 245's.

I haven't taken a good look to see the rim width, but I'd say fronts are 8 wide and the rears are 9.

5x114.3

Offset = ?? I'll check.

what I want?

17x9's for rear and 17x8's for the front.

with decent tyres with plenty of tread.

NO CHROME (unless it's on the lip)

would prefer light weight Jap wheels.

Would prefer dark wheels (black, gunmetal, grye, etc..)

QLD ONLY

Not looking for sale.. as I don't have a spare set to use.

the car is a daily.

So who is interested and what have you got for me?

I'd consider them, but would expect cash on top.

Iceberg - nice try. fair swap too hey?

You want cash on top for those hideous farkin things.!!!! Are you drunk.

p.s. Farkorf.

hmmm.. I would have thought there would be more interest in swapping 17's for 18's with no extra money...

No offence, but your wheels are single piece and heavy (in comparison to Japanese wheels), that are considered to be “ozzie offset” (wrong/bad fitment). You’re going to have a hard time finding someone with 17inch Jap wheels looking to down grade. Let alone someone who will offer you some cash. I have a couple of friends who work at tire shops and you can get your wheels with a tire package for like $1200 new.

I’d try and sell them to some Falcon owner on the ford forums for $500

Nice opinion.

I'm sure you will also know that there are alot of bigger is better skyline owners who may have imported a car with a set of 17's they don't like.

thanks anyway.

Noel - thanks mate.. was getting a bit worried you were ignoring me.

Of course. I've imported a few cars with rims I've hated as well, But do you think their dumb enough to swap for a cheaper rim..

Only joking dude, glad to see you got a laugh out of it though. Your wheels aren't too bad actually. I think with some negotiation you can get what you want. People on this forum are merciless though. Maybe advertise them on the Ford or commo sites. Bound to be someone with interest there. I might take my wheels to Woodridge markets and swap for some crack and a couple of bananas. ( seems that's all they are worth) Lol!

LoL, yes. Stupid enough to buy the import in the first place!

*runs*

You obviously have some sort of issue with me wanting to swap my wheels cause you don't like them..

and you have nothing to swap.

I don't remember saying "I'm looking for a dumbarse who wants to give me their 17 inch TE37's for my Aussie made apparently heavy 18's with no cash adjustment"

But if you want to keep arguing go right ahead.

Some people will consider me being stupid for going from 18's to 17's.

I also said, I'd "Prefer" light Jap wheels.

The only thing I said I wouldn't want is CHROME.

please.. carry on trying to make your useless point.

    • Ok I get you. But isn’t the butterfly intake a headache with the +T?  see this is my plan so far but please advise me into the right direction.  Nistune Ecu, 1000cc Bosch injectors, TD05 or TD06 Kinugawa turbo using stock rb25det exhuast manifold, walbro fuel pump unsure of model I think it’s 450/460, spitfire coils and sparks to suit and a R35 MAF sensor and boost sensor.    I was thinking maybe do a cheap eBay plenum $400-500 or try find a stock det neo intake. I think I’d port match it so it’s getting the full capacity but open to advice please.  Thanks
    • The issue now is the 'fuel cut' while driving, and when it happend, it does not stall. This, I did not test the fuel pressure while driving as I cannot with a fuel pressure gauge. I do have Nistune logs, yes. I have also replaced the MAF Sensor.   Also related to the FPG Fuel Hanger – I just realized that I need a Deutsch Crimp Tool to crimp some cables for the FPG Fuel Hanger. Need to purchase additional cables as the kit only included 2, which are for the float. FPG has not responded to my emails so far since purchasing. I thought about taking it to someone and having it done professionally, but I am reluctant since everyone I took it to messed up in some way.
    • There's a good German place in Brisbane if youre up for the drive 😛
    • The German place in Cabramatta was rock solid, fresh pretzel cooked to order back then. Then it went all quiet, after all the poker machines were removed, then I believe it closed for good. I did drive past the other week and noticed outdoor lighting a big screen, but no idea what is there now.
    • Yeah I suspect even if you hold airmass per cycle/cylinder constant if you get too far away from stock you're still going to have problems running the factory tune within the bounds of the factory load scale. Cams, different displacement/rod ratio, etc. I'm just lucky that the GTIII-SS with wastegate boost + CA compliance cats is pretty much equivalent to stock turbos. When I have actual space I can finally get it tuned and modify the fuel system for flex fuel to 100% handle any detonation concerns when cranking the boost to whatever those dinky turbos can put out.
