Hi all,

I just received an e-mail from the Autosalon organiser Alisa Lan, telling me that there is a new enthusiast network of websites called the "Hardtuned network"...

I was wondering what it was about so I had a look - http://www.skyline-gt.com/

Looks good.

Just thought that I would share...

(Mods - If it is inapropriate posting here about another Skyline based web forum, please delete).

in all fairness tho SAU has been around a lot longer than skyline-gt/hardtuned.net

you're right it is made by the ppl that made nissansilvia.com...but it is moderated by ppl that own skylines..so its not like a guy with a 180 is tryin to teach ppl about how a GTR driveline works...

I wont deny SAU is one of the best places on the net to get Information for the model range.

http://www.Skyline-gt.com just offers a different take on things, and allows us to cater to the Skyline owners who loved nissansilvia.com, and wanted an area of their own.

If anything we are wanting to support the events of clubs like SAU-NSW, as you guys are one of the best, if not THE best car club for skylines in the country.

People need to get over being internet website fanboys, hardtuned.net is about helping real car clubs promote their stuff, no matter if it's got the SAU branding or not.

(hardtuned.net isn't a club itself... it's an auto website network, - we are wanting to take the large amount of traffic we get to help promote clubs that are wanting to be affiliated with us)

If your skeptical, just sign up and check it out... if you hate it then don't go back.

I dont expect people to stop using SAU, and if anything with skyline-gt.com being launched it may even bring traffic BACK to SAU

(i mean i come on here a bit and browse around and own a SILVIA!).

Well put Loz,

I have been a member of SAU for a few years and I occasionaly have a look at NS.com (probably weekly) but I am not a member.

The forums on NS.com are excellent and I think that the idea of putting together a link for enthusiasts of almost every different import brand is a brilliant idea especially when there is such a huge amount of traffic going to your site every day.

Im going to sign up and have a look around, but I have to admit that SAU is my first and foremost club and always will be. :D

I've been, I've looked, I'va also joined and posted :D Have you approached SAU to perhaps be a partner site or anything? I didn't see any sort of comradery between the two which is quite a shame for such a large undertaking that seems to be going on here.

The idea behind it isn't a bad one, but that is a lot of car fanboys under one tree :)

And when you say SAU:NSW is one of the best, as much as I hate saying it, you should really give SAU:Vic a visit some time... They've been doing it for longer then us and have it down to a fine art ;)

SAU n NS used to be hosted on the same server back in the day, but we kinda went our separate ways a few years ago as we got too big for each other to share.

NS is following a good business model trying to tie in the various fan bases and unite them into one forum, giving sponsors value for their dollar etc. and the users a great experience.

SAU is still an enthusiast oriented community, so our business model's not as aggressive. ATM we're happy concentrating on one thing, skylines, and being good at it. The problem with affiliation is that the SAU forums, SAU VIC, SAU NSW, SAU WA etc are all their own separate entities, so even if one endorses a site or partnership, its not guaranteed to be reflected across the site.

We approached SAU a while ago to be part of the hardtuned.network ( and keep the SAU team & clubs just redesign the actual website ) unfortunately we couldn't come to any final agreement, and so in the end i made the ultimate decision as to create a new forum based around the ns.com platform, and launch it with the rest.

I have already given a couple of people from SAU access to post their events on our front page, to help promote your club.

I guess with many of the sites being in such an infant stage of their life i can already see that it's become a project that is now way over-scope, but hopefully if we make the right decisions, and MOST IMPORTANTLY get the right people on board as moderators / content contributors the whole project will pan out for the best.

I think once we roll out racedates.com.au and clubs.hardtuned.net in the next couple of months things will become a bit more clear, we aren't trying to take over or stamp out any clubs, we are wanting people to post news about their events etc. on our site so it reaches a wider audience! our ties with, and support from the key people in the industry: drift australia, superlap, ignitiondvd, express publications, and autosalon magazine & show series - along with the support we have had from all the racetracks - will hopefully cement us as the go-to place for news & info on car club events & motorsports in australia, and be a real benefit to helping enthusiasts find the club that suits them best.

Sounds a bit like what we tried to do with NSW SAU and ACT, to no avail as of yet.

    • I thought I'd come back and add something I JUST learned. A Toyota LandCruiser with a 1HZ, mates perfectly with a bottle of Nulon brake fluid. As in, it perfectly screws in. Great make shift funnel when you cut the bottom of it off. This may work for your Corolla.   Unfortunately, tipping a 10L drum is much harder than a 4 to 6L bottle, and they no longer include the easy pour tap which was just perfection to use previously.
    • Guys since i bought r33 gts25t coupe 1994 automatic a/t(manual swap 350z gearbox)  all i got is problems, always problems. Lets start with that when i turn key into ignition(ON) fuel pump doesnt always works. Sometimes i have to turn key twice Off/on/off/on until it primes. Its new, dw300 - 340lph. My gearbox broke so i did gearbox swap, install different intake manifold, injectors and i take pipes. Car was sitting in garage for more than half a year. I did assembly all not that long ago and when i turn ignition cant hear prime. All of sudden it stopped working. Theres many videos on YouTube how to make relay mod on r33 straight from battery so i did and it doesnt work! 😰 30 - battery positive  87 - positive from fuel pump to relay 85, 86 - one of two wires from original fuel pump wires(light blue, grey) and it didn’t work. so I check on ignition and took original BLUE relays wires from trunk, next to fuses. (I believe it’s IGN+ and ECU pin 18. it didn’t work…  tried connecting (IGN+ from og relay) and (ECU 104 from 1of4 FPCM wires) to my new relay 85/86 and it didn’t work.  I unplug FPCM. Didn’t work. im thinking what’s wrong   fuel pump is working, if I leave IGN+ on 85 and 86 straight to ground it works but it’s just nonstop. Since it getting constant 12v after key in ON. light blue wire gives me 6-8v.  so how this should be connected? What causing ECU not giving — on pin? Or I did sth wrong and that’s why it doesn’t work? I need negative signal on ECU that control fuel pump. What this should be?
