has anyone had experience with tein flex, monoflex or Greddy type S before or using either one on your beast right now?

Can't decide which one should be my next step as flex and G type-s are same price range but the latter appears to offer the similar spec as monoflex does with around $400 difference.

any input would be greatly appreciated

The GReddy's are pretty new to the market so I don't know if you'll get too many people that have direct comparison experience to the Teins. I just put some Type-S on my 33 GTR to replace my Olins. I can only give you my experience, but I can say that I'm so impressed with them so far.

The Olins were a really good shock but had fixed rate springs in 9kg/7kg and are really set up for a really low car. At full height I could only get my car to 330mm front and 340 rear. This was just too low for my driveway so had to say bye bye to the Olins. Also, there was so little travel in the Olins that when driving off a drive way at an angle the car would lift a tyre. I'm sure that they are great for an all out track car, but this just doesn't work on the street.

The GReddy's have 8kg/6kg progressive springs. IMO pregressive springs are a must for high spring rates on the street. The damping feel is so different to a fixed spring rate. I've only set the dampening setting to the middle of the range but so far find this very streetable. Of course coming from the Olins on the lightest setting, the GReddy's dampen so much more progressively. They aren't as harsh. I've set the car up at about 355mm front 345mm rear. The fronts are extended fully at that ride height, but with the additional 25mm I can now get out of the driveway.

The GReddy's also have a lot more travel than the Olins. Again due to the progressive nature of the springs when you go over a dip and back up again they take up so smoothly it's amazing. The Olins felt like the car was on rails, but I got a bit nervous when I could tell the tyres leave the road and then come back down so harsh. I feel so much more confident on the GReddy's.

I've never been in a car with the Teins so can't speak to them. But I am very happy with the GReddy's.

One note is that it took 2 1/2 months for mine to finally arrive from Japan. Maybe this is because there aren't as many GTR's around, but seemed like forever. Was worth the wait though.

Here are a few pictures to temp you

Your input is one of the most comprehensive and best feedback ive ever seen across GTRC GTROC and Skylineaus so far.

Really appreciated and i would definitely consider this set of dampers, just waiting for a bit more about the monoflex

I think the price difference is Tein pillow ball upper mounts are now included in the Mono Flex kit. Normaly they do not offer them in Tein kits, I would get them if i was buying Tein. Iv been waiting for the new Mono Flex to come out. I would like to see what people think of them who have actually experienced them. IMO I would go with Tein. Knowing I could go down the street and get them rebuilt if I needed to.
