So driving home from the motor show yesterday, came out of first, and gearstick hit a brick wall going into second. pulled over on Anzac highway. Had to get a tow to my dads work at Wingfield. $30

Copped some abuse on the side of the road while my car was pulled over, yelloud out "f**k YOU" just as the RAA lady answered. At least she thought it was funny.

Realise that one of my spokes on my front left drift tek is cracked. Only had them all fixed a month ago, havent hit anything at all so im stumped.

Realise that i haven't transferred my rego yet, and my rego is overdue. So i pay (today) for my transfer of rego, stamp duty, 6 months rego, and extended my license for 1 year. $1,212. I thought this was a bit high, for those who can give me an estimate ons tamp duty and transfer of rego, bougth car on 1/2/08, paid $21,900.

Dad rings me as i am walking back to work today, "clutch is absolutely cactus". Adelaide Clutch Services have quoted me just over 900 for a new heavy duty clutch + flywheel machining. Thats not including labour.

So my pocket is currently empty!

Its funny how shit always happens all at once.

It does! But thats how the party goes when something breaks on your car. You keep feeding it cash, but it'll keep gulpping it up!

HD clutch + flywheel machine for $900? Which clutch is that, because an Xtreme organic HD clutch for an R33 can be had for $350 odd, plus $50 for flywheel machine.... if its ceramic button, might explain it, but sucks to hear of your misfortunes :P

hey damo good to hear its all happening for u... sorry to hear abotut he financial strain tho.

just out of curious is it just a standard heavy duty clutch or ceramic/brass button? assuming with that price it might not be :).... either way she will be feeling alot better along the driveline when all this is done

the dori tek crack still has me stumped.. what a bummer... any ideas or plans reguarding this?

stamp duty = governments cut on every piece of pie circulating...... and yes it is always a decent amount... imagin when buying a house.... there is stamp duty on top of that..... :)

diddnt swap over rego?? :D lol well atleast now its done, liscence is extended and vehicle is regestered :P its all urs now!

should feel a little different when its crankin over again..

Well im pretty sure its not a button clutch. And i hope ACS have at least used some common sense in helping dad select a clutch, they would have asked what application it was for, so hopefully have given me something to handle the power.

yeah you gotta wonder why these rims cost under $1k for a set, yet decent Jap rims go for 3 times+ that amount .... so you know they are made of shit alloy and will break, yet you're looking to buy another one and keep running them on your car? WTF?

Pics look porn by the way - I haven't seen your car before, and normally don't like white wheels on a white car, but yours looks the goods

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
