Sound From Front, Could Be Engine Mounts?

Hey ppls,

I have a funny sound that my car makes when accelerating hard, or turning left and accelerating less hard.

It sounds like it's coming from the front passenger side wheel arch, but I'm pretty sure that's an illusion because nothing hits in there.....

It's a knocking/banging/scrapey noise, hard to pin point what it sounds like.

I 'think' it might be engine mounts, cos it does it when accelerating as well as cornering and accelerating.

Thoughts?

it only moves/hits from lateral force (ie: from accel / cornering)

Could be a possibility for sure Poiter!

Just get a jack under that side, pump it up a tad and have a gander. You'll soon see if the mount is cracked/broken.

You might even be able to see just having a look.

Also check the steering/suspension.

Do you have adjustable tops? They might be wearing a little. Mine clunk a fair bit as they are pretty old now and should be replaced

sif I've got time to jack up the engine!

Suspension mounts/arms are all good. Checked that when the shocks when in.

Hmmmm, to a mechanics with me!

When did the shocks go in?

Was happening B4 the shocks went in
