The closest Autobacs with anything that you'll be interested in is at Tokyo Bay. It's pretty crappy though.

Check out Crystal over in Chiba or Carshop Nagano, located in Aoto...

Nagano is probably easier to get to than Crystal.

Both have many more parts available than Autobacs and are also significantly cheaper.

LOL i'm not from japan, I don't speak any japanese, and I didn't know that shop called carshop nagano wasn't in nagano!! LMAO! err wait.

Anyways, I'm currently in Asakusa how hard would it be to get to either store from here? From what I could see of google maps it's the next river over from where I am.

From Tokyo station they need to take the "Sobu Line" to Chiba Station, then from Chiba Station they need to catch the Chibatoshi-Monorail to a station called "Sports-Center", then walk north past Maccas and a toyota dealer and it should be on the left!

Definitely check out Crystal. It's about a 10 minute walk from Sports Center, and very much worth it :)

One thing to remember, when you're grabbing things left, right and centre off the shelves, is that you have to carry all your purchases during your walk BACK to the station :(

I am not sure if there is a bus from there, I know there are buses from Gotemba (610yen) and Suruga-Oyama (570yen) or the taxi for about 3,500yen.

There are tickets on the gate but it is probably worth going to Lawsons convenientce store and getting tickets from there, using the ticket machine things they have. 99% you will need one for Sunday.

L Lawson Ticket code:

Saturday's code 31280 (1,500yen) 2,000yen at the gate

Sunday's code 31290 (2,300yen) 3,300yen at the gate

p.s. Unfortunately I have to work tomorrow so no D1 for me, also it is pretty far from Osaka. I might go to Suzuka.

Can someone tell me the best place in Japan to find a set of floor mats like these for my dr30?

http://page3.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/aucti...bluege_web_shop

The best place is Tanigawaya shop in Mie 三重県鈴鹿市神戸3-11-7 [〒513-0801]

Karo R30 "Wooly" floor mats

But there is a lead time on orders so in all honesty it would be better to get someone to order them.

    • Nah that is not actually a lot. Just painting my GTR frontend and the little bits to make sideskirts/nismo flare pieces work correctly/fit on the sedan/mount up correctly came to about $7000. Is it a lot? Sure. None of this is economical. Economy would be shelling the car and buying a 2010 Corolla to commute in. The perspective of all of this is different.
    • I have the 2025 build re003s’ on my 06 XT Forester Turbo and I quite rate them for street wet and dry
    • I don't see any issues here. I've been saying all along this is a big job, the price reflects that.  When the car comes back perfect I'm sure it will feel like money well spent.
    • Remember, take original quote. Double it. Then add a bit more. It's how any project goes.
    • So, I started this repair and got as far as "fixing" the holes with some fibreglass. God all those years working on boats came back quickly. I decided I'd reach out to some rust guys just to see what they would say about it. I came across a guy about 40 mins away and went to see him. He said the windscreen needs to come out, that there might be some more bits around the windscreen and he'd quote them at the time. But his quote was $300 to remove and replace windscreen and $3k for the damage he can see. He said he could respray the roof for $1200 and the bonnet for another $800 (somebody has previously rattle canned it, its horrendous). This is $5300 + any small additional bits. It's a lot, I get that and the name of one of my fave youtube channels 'Not Economically Viable' comes to mind.  I'm not being financially rational, but I've taken him up on the quote. He's opening a new shop in November with more room, so we're waiting for that. I'll leave the currently missing headliner out until then. I'm looking forward to it being fixed and having the paint looking nice again (lots of clear coat issues on the roof too). / flame suit on.
