After $1 Billion in development it would want to.

My ass..what a tax dodge.....

I mean at $10K profit a car..they would have to make 100,000 cars before they have break even.

Which equates to 2 years approx. production...especially at the rates they are going now.

Off the topic I know....

On the topic ...........I would much rather they advertise..the home grown...family....country tourer

that this car is.....large...able to do the job you bought it for...with great looks and styling.

Do you realise how many commodores they make? They are exported to the United States, United Arab Emirates, China....They do make a lot of commodores

And they sell the current model for more than one or two years... But I am sure they just made up the $1Billion dollar figure

It wasnt just $1b for the current model VE but everything involved in making the VE, also that chassis will continue on for a couple of years more yet.

For the streets i'd happly drive a VE SV6 or above over my r32 gtr any day.

havent seen the ad yet, but coming from a VE SS must say for 45K brand new it would have to be one of the best family cars with balls goin around. 13.4 quarter from factory is almost R33 GTR factory times !!!!!

But in saying that my old 94 model GTR with just an exhaust and air filters would tear the ass out of the VESS straight line or on the track..... GO THE BIG RED R !!!!!

Until you need to cart a family around or furniture.

I personaly like the SS ute commercial for holden and the evolution of the ute..... and the best bit at the end "Evolution ends here" ???? Now does this mean that they will no longer be making and new versions of the ute??? because i would say that if the evolution of the ute ends, then so does the ute. So go buy a new ute and when they bring out the next model, you can go and get a free upgrade as you bought the ute origionally knowing that it was the last because they said in the commercial that "Evolution ends here". so they made you buy it under false pretences..... sorry i was really bored and have a very overactive imagination. but you do see my point... its false advertising

    • I mean I agree. I've seemingly never had issues and I have RS4's in the rain, but I drive pretty slow in the rain, and I commute around on the street and pretty much never push it. But it's not like you're going to uncontrollably slide off the street with them in the rain. At least here in Aus. And I say this before I drive to Tassie in Winter. AS above, the term "Semi" is a bit of a misnomer. The ContiSportContact7 is also a "Semi" or a "UHP" tyre. It's the same category as an AD09 in any case.
    • These are not semis. None of the tyres in that comparo are semis. They are UHP tyres. Perfectly streetable. I'm on my second set of AD09, after using a couple of sets of AD08R. On the street. Every day. I get 15-20 thousand km out of them, which is perfectly acceptable. They are a really nice tyre to drive on. I have few, if any, complaints.
    • You'd hope, if it came from ACS, that it wouldn't be that.
    • Or the brand new throwout may be unhappy...
    • Thanks for the linkie. Certainly always a great deal of help when people post comparisons like these, but I think for now I'll stay away from any semi slicks. I did go ahead and order the sportcontact 7. My buddy has them on his modified A4 and he keeps saying how good they are. For my intended purposes these will probably work real well. I'll report on them once I had the chance to try them out
