Hey all just curious as to what we do if it rains??? Are we still on???

I know my tyres are hoping for rain ;) .....

Worse case scenario for me probably keep my daily tyres on, as they are pretty good in the wet, somehow don't think my semi's will be any good in the wet.

Yeah the last wakefield day I went to it was fairly damp in the morning so I left my street tyres on... After 1-2 sessions though the racing line dried up really quickly.

Fuel is a part of life. With the petrol price rising we all have to deal with it. It's a 1/4 tank to get down there from the start of the M5 a full day on the track in my car takes up another 1/4 full day in the GTR is 1/2 tank.

Wow thats good economy last track day i did at wakey i got 60 kms racing to 3/4 of a tank

Yeah.. strongly recommend bringing some jerry cans with fuel. It's a 15 min drive to Goulburn which eats into your track time if you have to go fill up... You dont want to race on less than a 1/8 tank because you can starve the pump of fuel when you're belting around corners

Last day I did I went through about 70L of fuel.

You'll be fine with semis on driving on the road :ermm: (cop wise)

backseat out is easy, however I can fot my tyres in with my backseat in....although mine is a boat

Not when they have printed "for competition use only" on the sidewalls on each tire lol.

Wasn't going to spectate at this trackday however i've just realised my parents will be up here (Penrith) staying a night at my place which means there place in Goulburn will be vacant - hrmmm that sounds like a fair swap for the weekend.

If I do end up going down I can help out Abo.

pfft I'm going to go broke with all these extra's :P:ermm: Think I have a jerry can somewhere, anyone got an attachment/cone to fill up, as I think mines a big jerry can.

I'll have a funnel... just ask

... as long as they are above the wear indicators! :P

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?

    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
