What does offset mean???im just now gettin into the whole sars thing :D but im 15 and live in japan and am loving my skyline anyways enough about me lol also what width should i look for???? I have an R34 1998 2.5 GT i know i need 5x114.3 but thats all i know what else do i need 2 look for?

Offset is how far the hub of the wheel is from the centre of the wheel. So basically the lower the offset, the more dish you will get. Or more spoke concavity depending on the style of the rim. But this also means that the wheel in general will sit further out the lower you go with offset.

In general lower offset = tough, but more effort involved in getting the wheel to sit right if you go too low (guard mods, camber, stretched tyres).

For your car id go something like 18x8.5 front and 18x9.5 rear. With maybe 35-ish offset for something reasonable.

will these rims work fo my car? i am conserned about the 45mm offset in the rear but i'm not sure if it matters in the front bacause it does not rotate...will these work? thanx

Yeah , i agree as mentioned above, this is the offset and rim size i am running on my GTT R34, have a look at my gallery pics to give you an idea.

most ppl want the wheel to completely fill their guards.

the more towards 0 (well...negative really) acompanied by width, the more it'll fill it out.

google for 'offset calculator' to see the difference new rims will make from ur old rims.

this is my car below with

18x10 +18 rear

18x9+20 front with a +25mm spacer...effectively making it 18x9 -5.

ofcourse you'll need to roll ur guards and if u keep going flaring your guards.

so basically figure out what others r running on the 34's with a guard roll (only costs $50 a corner to do) and go for that is my suggestion.

    • The incentives are mostly the same, yes. Ethanol is cheap compared to the cost of doing 98-100 RON with crude oil alone. 87 to 93-94 AKI all with E10. In 2020 Canada mandated E10 as a part of their "renewable fuel standard" and is supposedly going to go to E15 in 2030. In California where there are only 8 refineries with two threatening to shut down next year it's been over 20 years now of E10 and 91 AKI maximum because there's just not enough refinery capacity or crude oil supply relative to the demand for premium unleaded fuel. And CARB's low carbon fuel standard means functionally none of the diesel available at the pump is made from crude oil anymore. It's almost all entirely 20% biodiesel blended with 80% renewable diesel (hydrotreated vegetable oil) now. The number of gasoline vehicles that support E15 or higher ethanol concentrations is surprisingly low, I can't imagine it being wise to play tricks like this without flex fuel sensors in most of the fleet.

    • Hi all, Long time since I've posted here. Looking for some advice on what I can remove to further identify the cause of my issues.  I can move the passenger seat forward and back but the knob used to adjust the seat angle is pretty much free spinning, there's very little resistance.  Removing the side cover I can see that the chain is intact but the shaft for the adjustment spins without the gear attached to it moving.  What's my next step for disassembly here? Is this a common fault? Just being a little cautious as I didn't want to start removing bolts for a spring to fly out or something equally as stupid.  Cheers
    • Those above shitboxes, mediocre and above usually have a turbo strapped to them, hence the slightly higher octane is required.
