hi all....

I have no idea now... hoping some1 can help me,

I have just finished my 100k service (everything their is ok it turns no problem)

Installed a GT3540 on the stock manifold with external wastegate

and a greddy style plenum....

it will turn like it wants to start but it wont fire.... it has fuel and spark.

it kinda feels like an earth or vacuum leak, but i can't find anything.

what else could it be???

Thanks in advance

Josh

lol I didn't know installing a GT3540 was a part of the 100,000km service?

Not sure about you problem though? Sorry.

Maybe IAC valve? What happens if you pump the throttle a little while starting?

Nothing much... sounds like it wants to start but just doesn't go...

The GT35 is the most important part of the 100K service... LOL

So I'm asuming you did timing belt?

Timing marks could be off.

No i don't think it would be, I triple checked everything when i put it back together....

just double checking man. by its got fuel...u mean injector pulse?

i installed a 3540 and a greddy plenum.

when i went to start it I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM

what u have to do is. reverse the fuel hoses. so switch the hoses coming from the fpr with the feed hose to the rail. so swap them around

i had that problem.

very easy to overlook. make sure the hose from the fuel filter goes to the inlet for the rail NOT to the fpr

symptons were....it would crank and crank, and want to start. but it wouldnt run.

the fuel line with the fuel filter should go to the rear of the motor, the return line should come out of the reg at the front rail..

the easiest way to distinguish these........

the fuel pressure reg is always the highest point of the fuel system as not to air lock the fuel rail. this is where your return line should go.

sounds like basic stuff i know but it never hurts to check the cooler piping again, i checked mine four times before i found the leak cause my engine to hunt.

    • About $4k brand new, available from vendors in Oz, or via an importer from Japan. Although that is for an R34 box, so you also need to buy the push clutch front plate (brand new from Nissan) and swap that over, and drill the bellhousing for a push clutch slave cylinder.
    • Absolutely could be. I collected data logs from when the O2 sensor was still out and also after I had replaced it so will try to compare them. Pretty confident that the affect is lowered with the new sensor, will check logs at the same RPMs/conditions.

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
