hey guys,

I got a ps3, aus PAL version, and i want to get the uncut version of gta4, I know they are all region free etc etc, but someone told me it MIGHT not work on every tv, i have a fairly standard tv unit, nothing crash hot, good size, maximum 5 years old. my question is,

would it have a problem playing the game on that t.v?

in future ill be buying a massive lcd tv would i have a problem with my lcd playing region free games too?

thanks guys.. appreciate any feedback

It isn't the tv that has region problems, its the DVD player - in this case the PS3. It SHOULD work, I'm not 100% sure but i think games dont have regions , unlike DVD movies.

Incorrect. The TV must support NTSC format. Australia runs on PAL but you should be right mate, most TV's these days support both PAL and NTSC formats.

The PS3 games are 100% region free, no worries there. The blu-rays however are region encoded.

it should work fine

I dont know why you would buy, the only thing that is different is how you interact with the hookers and apparently one cut scene.

Why dont you save your $70 odd and go see a real hooker

ppfft giveing a shit about cartoon porn

As mentioned your TV needs to support NTSC but most TV's do now and have done so for years. If unsure there may be a sticker on the back of the TV that lists model number and such that should also state if it is PAL/NTSC.

Only difference between Aus and USA versions so far is the hookers. I haven't found this missing footage yet.

well, you may be right, but i actually went to buy the aus version, and i asked the guy behind the counter whats the difference, he told me aus version is 1gb less than the usa version, and knowing ps3 games are REALLY small games for some reason... i opted for the us version.

does anyone agree with me on that? i finished need for speed pro street in no time, call of duty 4 in a week, fifa 08 u can only play for 5 years... and virtua tennis is piss easy. im not a freak i only play after work for max 1 hour...

and for the guy who told me about the 1gb difference.. well i dont know if its true.. he had huge glasses and lost a sale for telln me that so who knows.. thanks for all the replies by the way!

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
