the main benefit of an alarm is that they will target another car instead of yours, as yours is too much trouble.

As long as its not a GTR surrounded by Falcodores

I'm about to buy one of those GPS GSM Modules, from the GroupBuy on this forum. If the alarm goes off, it sends an sms to your mobile. You can then sms back, and get the GPS co-ordinates of your car. So even if it is on a truck, you'll be able to find it. The module is small enough to hide anywhere, and even if the power is disconnected, it has a backup battery.

As long as you find it before it goes in a shed.......then GPS is useless.

The old $20 Telstra Pre-Paid mobile phone hidden & hard wired to constantly charge and put on 'silent' is the best way to track your car via Telstra.

errrr what are the differences between the new Falcons and VE Commonwhores - they look the same, sound the same, have the same power level, and both attract bogans :G

Hence why Ford have embarked on their insanely disgusting colour choices in recent years (orange, lime green, yellow, etc) - so you can tell Falcons and Commonwhores apart

yeah I'm not knocking GPS modules because we use them to track employee's vehicles. Only prob is that sticking them under dashes or seats restricts the signal and on very overcast days they keep dropping out. The idea is to get to a console ASAP and track it live or else make sure that it can log the data for download later.

2 ways of tracking is either by distance or by time, we use both.........ie, ping every 50 metres whilst mobile then every 3 to 4 minutes whilst stationary.

The idea with the Telstra pre-paid mobile phone is obviously the cheapest and easiest to install and cops have used this method for serious felonies but I don't know how you would go with Telstra pinging it for you.....probably would if you had a $1 mill Ferari or Lambo.

The kit thats being sold in the group buy has an external GPS and GPRS antennae and so can be mounted anywhere discrete (such as A pillars, B pillars, parcel seat, underbody etc...). They look pretty nice for what they do, and I wouldnt mind getting one cause they can be wired in to the security system as well... quite a nicely designed system but like SLED says, if they get it into a chop shop, its bye bye..

Dohmar can you post up a link to that group buy, had a quick scan but couldn't find it? Maybe coz im too tired :ermm:

Yeah, no need to go thru that guy. He only has 74 posts in 1 year and now wants $295 + freight.

You can get it yourself for that price anytime off Ebay.

There's also another good one that allows you to discreetly dial into the cabin and hear what the thieves are saying.

Identical to the Group Buy

i thought it was funny about that group buy the guy running it goes 'i spoke to the supplier and we have to buy 100 to get any discount so im going to buy 10 and save on shipping' then when you see the size of the package he goes '18 registered post' LOL registered post is like $9.95=$2 for the insurance or something like that, a 3kg express bag is like $9.95 to any capitol city

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
