I'm getting a new one on Tuesday, xtreme 9-puck has failed for mine, while my mates abused 440hp holds up just fine with 10x more punishment! After it's pulled out to see just what sucked I'm deciding from there, but not sure what way I will go just yet. Twin-plate might just be a touch too far at the moment for me  Sponsor, anyone??

Gav, convert to an auto transmission and this is not a decision you will need to make :)

btw, grats on your 2nd at MC, but you were a bit closer to me than i like so i am happy to help with your auto conversion :blush::D

thats a 2nd with sliping clutch be afraid bard be afraid

shame really other than the bad idle/ rough running things felt good aparently no 5's coil pack wasnt attached properly but meh my best for the season

clutch didnt really show major issues till i tried to pass a truck on the way home revs went up speed didnt things got bad from there on

teach me to buy new sunnnies and think about new investments

*edit* if you want to help with full tein suspension instead of the auto im listening

Pauls will be avail as a second hand set as of Monday. I think he wants $1400 as they have done like 2000km.

You can have them at the end of the MC Season

But seriously, its good value and if you supply the beer, ill come down and help fit them

so same as whats in your ride aye? if theres still fold available after clutch and cooling system weve got somehing to talk about at next autotest

and my beer is better than anything you can buy i promise you

Try the ORC carbon clutch. As you know drifters abuse their clutch like madness, like kicking and stuff... and it still holds up to the torture. A jap mechanic who does work for japan's drift cars told me that it feels almost like driving an organic, but it takes up to about 700hp. Well price wise... ahem....

Yep, zactly the same as what i have. It will give us an more even playing field :(

I run a 4puck cushioned brass button clutch (exedy I think), lots of 1st & 2nd clutch drops and rolling kicks, I don't abuse 3rd so can't comment much there :( seems to handle all the abuse I deal it (ask Tristan, he's seen it painting lines  )

yea slide has a decent range of exedy clutches so i was looking that way

spose itd really help if i gave a little info on cherryred and her uses for those who dont know me

while she sees verry little road use these days i dont want an overly heavy clutch

most of the track done at the moment is motorkana style but i plan on moving into short track stuff in the near future

power figures arnt expected to ever go over the mid to high 200s so no massive hp abuse

thanks for all the replies so far

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
