Where Can You Find Engine Number On A V35

As per topic, how can you easily find the engine number on a V35 ?

is it somewhere on a build plate or there's no other way but to stick your head in the cramped engine bay ?

Engine number location on VQ series motors is at the back of the block as per image, some people use an engine number location image as a reference that is actually the front of the motor not the back which confuses people.

Ok, does it require removal of the top engine cover?

from peeking my head around with a torchlight (not gonna remove the top cover yet tonight) I found either:

a) a 6-digit all numeric pattern with small black print 202**1 on a surface that's a bit rounded

or

b) an embossed 5-alphanumeric pattern that's like casted on the right hand side, like AK**01

It is at the back of the motor and their is no need to remove anything, it will be along the lines of 287430AVQ35.

Found it... after looking again, I was looking way too high before, need to shine the torch downwards and finally saw it engraved on the back side facing up, driver side.. Yep, in that format you mentioned above... 80....AVQ35 something like that...
