i'll be running the car next wed so i'll post my results :P

Still running tonight? I'll look out for you

I've always had 60ft problems in my GTR, 11.7 @ 122... I'm looking forward to seeing what improvements you make

Mounted one of the tyres on the rim and tried it on the car today there are clearance issues everywhere what a bummer my own fault I should have taken some proper measurements before hand . Really do need the 275/17's but there aren't any in the country . Looks like I might just have to put some normal 45 profile road tyres on the 17 inch rims I've got suppose they have to be better then the 19's and 30 profile .

I could have told you that. The only reason I ordered the 295's is because I can't get hold of 275/17's at the moment but looks like Rocket will have a shipment in next week after speaking to them on the phone today . One thing I can't work out is the M/t size chart the measurements don't seem to match up . They have the 295/45/17 equivalent to a 28inch slick and the 275/40/17's equivalent to a 26inch slick . Thing is I just measured my 295's and they are nowhere near 28inchs tall more like 26 and 26inches is still too big for the wheel arches . I would be interested to find out the exact height of the 275/40/17's.

Marko picked up his rubber today...even supplied him some coilovers.

They were out of Mark Jacobsen's GTR when it was running mid 8's on the same rubber so should suit the car just fine.

No excuses not to blast into the 10's now mate.

well i do have no excuses actually

oh & thanks for the beer at your place paul :)

hi guys (& paul),

i probably shouldn't post this here but it seems that i am surrounded by knowledgeable guys on this particular thread so here goes:

I have noticed over the past week or so that my peak knock level on my power fc handcontroller reads up to 107, but only has occured a few times!

i then discovered today the reason my knock is peaking @ 107 is because when I start the car sometimes the power fc picks up a massive knock reading when im cranking the car! i monitored this today & repeatedly started the car as it showed this high reading on average every 5th start.

it sounds to me like the knock sensors are picking up sound from maybe the starter motor or when the starter motor actually engages the flywheel...weird huh...does anyone else have this issue?

another thing as well - if i take the car to redline when the fuel cut occurs will this also register a higher than normal knock level?

i had my car booked tomorrow for crd to check over but maybe this isnt required, i dont want to waste jim's valuable time.

regards,

when i ran a Power FC ialways reset the peakhold after starting engine for that very reason.

    • @GTSBoy This method was able to get readings of -10 to -2, so it looks like its monitoring.  Now I need to figure out why the vacuum on the line provided isn't alternating with manifold pressure.  I went with 2 lines that an RB25 tuner recommended but I'll get a longer hose and try directly off the back of the manifold.  He may have been used to OEM intake setups while I have a DBW setup that removed the MAF and IACV.
    • I work at a car detailing and tinting shop called Quark which gets all manner of German cars in usually (mainly due to a contract with Mercedes Benz Kita Osaka, BMW Nishinomiya and others) but every once in a while something special comes in, like a fully restored 1972 HS30 Nissan Fairlady 240ZG... The shop owner had immediately started applying film to the windows as soon as it was in the shop so the interior was completely covered in towels and plastic sheets. But I could get a few photos of the engine bay which was restored like new. Such an amazing car to see in pristine condition in Japan these days.
    • Was going to say the car pulls up nicely everywhere, especially going into that last long right hander before the main straight. Looks like a lot of fun.
    • Hey Dave, welcome aboard! Good to see another soon-to-be Stagea owner here. The wagons are awesome — plenty of space, still got that Skyline DNA, and loads of potential if you’re into mods. Definitely post up pics when you get it, everyone here loves seeing new builds. What model/year are you looking at?
